Tongue was irritating
Received the rose shoes which are very pretty. Wore these with a thin sock and because I have a high arch, my one foot got a very ugly blister. There is a raised portion under the tongue which rubbed against the top of my foot. These might soften after a time, but right now I can't wear these for a long period of time.

sturdy shoe
This shoe fit well overall, even with my high in-step, and it felt sturdy for walking. The tongue and lacing are different from other sneakers, so I don’t think I could walk all day in them without breaking them in first. The taupe color is almost rose; I wanted something more brown.

Limited Width Adjustment
Shoes are cute, and I really wanted to like them. Unfortunately, the tongue sits on TOP of the side flaps of the shoe so you can only tighten the laces until the tongue hits the side strips with the metal rings. If you try to tighten anymore than that, the tongue bunches up and hurts the top of your foot when the laces are tightened. I have always worn a medium width in my size, and never had a problem before with the width. I returned these, but this style might work if your foot is a bit wider than a regular medium.

Cute but VERY NARROW
These look cute in person and I would totally rock them but they are super narrow. You will need to order 1 size up and even then the toe box is so narrow that they might not fit. For me, at a size 10, I don't have room to size up so I had to return.

Well made and attractive in the wine color. Fit was too small so returned. Normal size is American 9N to 9M. Ordered this Mephisto shoe in 9.5 M and it was too short. Out of stock in size 10 at the time or would have reordered.
