COMFORT
I do love Mephisto shoes. I have a narrow foot and they seem to fit quite well. the leather could have been heavier but all in all, they fit well. I ordered up one size as was suggested and probably could have remained at my regular size. They are made in France and those shoes run smaller, e.g. Repetto.
Quite happy with purchase and will get a lot of wear from them. Love the arch support!!

shockingly too short a strap
OK, I have a small wide foot with a high instep. But I have also purchased Mephisto sandals before and worn them happily. When these arrived I could not really get my foot in due to the shortness of the top instep strap. I am very disappointed.

Arch support too high for me
I really wanted these sandals to be comfortable but they're not. The arch support is way to high for me and made with a very hard material. It feels like there is a huge bump in the shoe, and it hurts. It also hits me at the wrong spot. I'll be returning these shoes for that reason. Mephisto is a good brand, I've never had a problem with their shoes before.
The lining of the foot bed is soft and the cupped toe bed prevents your toes from hanging/sliding off the shoe.
I range between a 9 1/2 and 10M and ordered the 10, it was a perfect fit in the length, a 9 1/2 would have been too short. The buckles allow you to adjust the width which is one of the reasons I ordered them.
I wish my local Nordstrom store carried more shoes. Once upon a time I had so many options I'd buy 2 or 3 pairs at a time. Now they rarely have my size in stock. I miss being able to try shoes on before purchasing them. Ordering shoes online is becoming too precarious for me.

Just right!
This is my second pair of these shoes. I have high arches and usually wear inserts. Mephistos with arch support are the only sandals which work for me. Well worth the money as my last pair lasted 6 years. Footbed is very comfortable, everything about the shoe is high quality. I can walk for hours in these. And when no one is looking I wear them with socks! I got the metallic option and they are lovely.

Really like the platinum color, but prefer a slightly more elevated heel after wearing numerous pairs of Mephistos over the years.

MASTER OF SHOES
There are NO OTHER sandal's like a MEPHISTO. Birkenstock is NO way as comfortable as a MEPHISTO. MEPHISTO is WELL MADE!
No breaking in, no worries about foot problems forming to this brand of shoe. I have a pair of sandals from MEPHISTO from back in 1999 and they are still like new with the support comfort and fit. It lives up to its reputation of being "WORLD'S FINEST FOOTWEAR." I am not a sandal wearer but only with MEPHISTO. This sandal has an excellent foot bed with high quality leather not digging in or too wide etc. I love the lift of the sole making each step comfy to walk in over any type of terrain. I did size up one whole size and PERFECT FIT.... I am an 8.5 and the 39 is PERFECT! xox
