Disappointed
Although the bottle is truly lovely, the scent is truly disappointing. I have many Jo Malone scents & a few favorites but this one fell flat for me. There is absolutely no staying power once sprayed, none, so I really can’t comment on the scent! The stars are for the really pretty bottle. I’m still a Jo Malone fan, I wear English Oak & Hazelnut daily & get lots of compliments.

Beautiful heart and base notes.
I’m on the fence about this one—I loved the sample I went through, but after owning it the top notes are almost cloying to me. Very harsh and soapy. The middle notes are very green because of the ivy, which I love. I’m not sure whether I will keep it because the first ten minutes are near headache-inducing, but the dry down is lovely—like green grass and wet stones.

perfect summer scent
Light and bright. Like being in the middle of a spring meadow. I bought this for traveling, but within a month, I asked Jill, my Jo Malone consultant, to send me another bottle before they’re gone. I love their limited collection but I hate they’re not around permanently. Thank you, Jill!

My new favourite scent! Don't discontinue please!
Just love this! I bought all 4 of the latest Highland inspired scents based on the descriptions as I live on Orkney and have no shop nearby without getting on a plane or ferry! This is by far my favourite, as I thought it would be. I tend to prefer woody, fruity, more masculine (per se) fragrances, Lime Basil & Mandarin an all time fave and have over 30 Jo Malone fragrances including some now discontinued but this one is just beautiful, it's one of the rare scents I can smell on myself, which is, of course, a top reason for buying fragrance! It's fresh but warm at the same time, woody and slightly on the masculine side but these are the type of fragrances I prefer, never been a floral person.... Really hope they keep doing this one as I'd hate to be without it!

Smells Like Walking in the Woods on a Spring Day
Let me begin by saying, the previous review entitled "Shup Up and Take My Money" had me doubled over laughing. If you haven't read it, it's worth the read. As to this cologne, it has a base of cool wood scents such as pine and resin with top and middle notes of cool floral scents. Once it's dried down it smells like a soft feminized version of stronger masculine colognes or Jo Malone's Cypress and Grapevine, but with green floral notes. It's wonderful worn during the day and would be a wonderful addition if you're going on a walk in the woods. As expressed by the other reviewers I wish this wasn't a limited edition scent. I also wish it came in the 100 ml size as I'm going to run out of the 30 ml size of this scent way too soon. I suggest making it into bath and/or body products such as Jo Malone's shower gel or body & hand wash, as the effect of opening a Melancholy Thistle Shower Gel or Body & Hand Wash in the heat and steam of a shower, or even washing up over a sink, would be an amazing experience. Hopefully, Jo Malone will listen to all of our recommendations for this scent. To finish, even though I wear this often, no brawny Scotsman has yet to appear. Sigh. Perhaps if I visit Scotland on my vacation this summer...
