They squeak
My left shoe starts the day squeaking then gets quiet around mid afternoon. But the right shoe starts squeaking. It’s coming from the insole below my arch. Very frustrating bc the shoe is super comfortable. I just don’t like announcing myself all day long

Good looking shoe, hurts the foor
The Pros - good looking shoe, pairs well with everything from shorts to jeans, Khakis, and some slacks.
Cons - the stitching where the tongue meets the body creates abrasion on the little toe. I took it to Europe and by the end of the first day walking, my little toe was nearly bleeding. Unfortunately, this was the only shoe I carried. The only way I could wear it for the rest of my trip was to tape up my little toe. Even with that my toe has developed a callus and it hurts. I've worn many J&M shoes but this is the first time I've had this issue.

Noisy
These look really nice and are comfy, but they are squeaky.

Good looking shoe - very uncomfortable
I bought this shoe for my recent trip to Europe, thinking this will pair well with shorts, jeans, and dark khakhis, saving me the trouble of carrying multiple shoes.
First the Pros. They are good looking and well-made. They lasted the 10-day trip, with over 12000 - 15000 steps a day over cobblestones and pavements, and held up well. They look good with a wide range of outfits.
The Cons: They are extremely uncomfortable. The seam where the tongue is stitched to the main body rubs against the little toe. By the end of the first day of wearing them, my little toe was almost on the verge of bleeding due to abrasion. Changing socks did not help either. Unfortunately, I had carried only this pair of shoes and the only way I could wear them was after wrapping my toe in medical tape. Even with that, my toe has developed a callus.
I hate to throw a new pair of shoes away but I can't wear them. I've had Johnston & Murphy shoes before but never had a problem with them.
Severely disappointed with this pair.

Great Shoe but Cant Wear
I bought these 5 months ago and they were awesome. Love the look and they are extremely comfortable. However, after about 3 weeks of wear they developed a squeak or rather a creak. After about another month or two of wear i figured out the creak is coming from somewhere between the sole of the shoe and midsole (under the insole insert). I thought maybe this would wear out of them but that hasn't been the case, it has only grown from a nuisance to a flat out annoyance to to point of not being able to wear the shoes at all.
