The photos for this kit didn't convince me, so I went to the store to check it out. I also had to look up individual items to see how they are supposed to be used: Eyeshadow: The eyeshadows are sticks, and the eyeshadow colors (even the light grey color, Dove) work on me and look good together. I blended them with my fingertips. Lip: The lip color (named barely there) is a light and warm-toned, almost orangey neutral. I can't really wear it alone, and it is my least-liked product in this kit. However, layered under the matching color lip gloss and with the lip pencil it looks pretty good. The bright pink gloss is great alone and I have it in my purse. It doesn't look that bright on, and makes my teeth look whiter. Eye concealers and highlighters: The light-colored pencil is to be used like a highlighter, and I must say it has good staying power! There is also a flesh-toned undereye concealer meant to used lightly and an eyelid primer. The eyelid primer is a new favorite! It looks great even alone and very natural and easy to blend. The eyeliner and mascara are good, nothing special. I did see in a video the eyeliner is meant to "tightline" the eye, which isn't how I usually use my eyeliner, but I will give it a try. It is very soft and VERY black. The softly shimmery bronzer, highlighter, blush, and translucent powder are another favorite. I used one brush to bronze, highlight, and blush, softly layering and blending them, and then another brush (the kit does not come with brushes) to lightly use on my nose, chin and forehead. A little goes a long way. I don't even feel like I need foundation. I am no makeup artist, but this kit makes me feel like one!
