Pria^™ 85 Max Collection Convertible Car Seat

I’m sooo sad about this. I was BEYOND excited to see a beautiful cream//linen color but it’s far more brown and almost textured grid pattern. Looks much cheaper in person. I cried.. over a car seat. Sad but true! The car seat in and of itself is amazing, but the sand color is not as described.

We received this convertible seat as a gift, and even though our daughter was still comfortable in her infant car seat we were too excited to use the new car seat to wait any longer to install it. The installation was even easier than the infant seat and provoked none of the murmuring under breath. Even though our daughter is on the smaller size, the inserts and adjustability of the seat allows her to be snug and comfortable. The magnet chest clip is convenient, as are the holders to keep the straps out of the way as you try to wrangle a squirmy child’s arms. Obviously the most important feature of any car seat is keeping the child safe and we can tell just by the appearance of the seat’s Air Protect that the Pria 85 Max is keeping our child protected. Given its ability to be cleaned, the adjustable features and its durable design, we are excited to have this seat in which our little nugget will grow.

Bought our car seat nearly 3 years ago and just transitioned my son to a booster when he hit 50 lbs and no longer needed to tighten the straps after buckling in. Always a happy mama knowing my son was comfortable in the car seat and loved how easy it is to take off the cushion, throw in the wash, and clean! Only difficulty was releasing the straps from the bottom buckle (needed to press the button just right - I never had a problem but the grandparents had a harder time) but felt better knowing there’s no way my toddler could do it himself either!

UPDATE: I wrote a review a little under two years ago when I first purchased the seat. Two years later, after much use (including a cross country road trip) , I still really love the seat. HOWEVER, I just returned it to Nordstrom after we were out running errands and the magnetic chest clip just BROKE. It completely stopped latching properly and could easily be pulled apart with the slight tug of a hand. Luckily my son can talk and alerted us to the problem. Although I agree with the magnetic clip being a handy feature, I realized soon after purchasing the seat that friends/family taking my son out of the seat weren't able to do it without a little instruction/demonstration for me. This had me concerned for the past two years...what if I had been in an accident and needed to quickly get my child out and was unablet o do itmyself? Would the average person stopping on the side of the highway be able to quickly figure out how to unbuckle him? Well, all of this to say, I contacted Maxi-Cosi directly to let them know about the malfunctioning magnet because I would hate for this to be the result of serious injury or death in another family. I told the customer service rep that I loved the seat but always had concern over the magnetic feature. She informed me if I choose to purchase another Maxi-Cosi seat in the future, I can call and place an order (inexpensive) for the traditional clip and use that instead. YAY! This is exactly what I plan to do. Just wanted to share that with you all since it really is a great seat, but the magnetic clip would have prevented me from re-purchasing this particular one.
