These pants are made of a soft, mid-weight jersey fabric. They stretch without losing their shape. I typically wear size 6 in brands like Akris Punto, but always need to order size 8 in Max Mara.

. . . . for the tiny waisted
These are beautiful and fit perfectly in my usual size---except at the waist, where the design nips in a few inches and is too tight on me.
The clasp still secured, but this item wouldn't have been comfortable to sit in for either work or travel, so I returned with regret. Not for me, but they are beautifully made.
