Maverick Pendant Necklace

I ordered this to be picked up at a nearby store and learned while away on vacation, as according to the website tracking indicator, that the product was delivered, but then returned, and a refund processed. All this without contacting me. I contacted customer service and they, first of all, confirmed that it was delivered, but they said because I didn't pick it up on time, it was returned. So I contacted the store it was supposedly delivered to, and they gave me a difference explanation that the product was never available in the first place. So I was charged and processed for the order even though the product was sold-out in all locations including on the website, when it clearly says that it is available and that it still allowed me to go through the steps of the ordering and payment process. Needless to say, what would've been a nice Christmas gift to my girlfriend, it wasn't even available for purchase. Please do better with updating your inventory and availability on your website.

The website indicated that this item was available at a specific store but when I called (always call customer service to confirm!) they said it wasn't in their inventory. So moving onwards, on the website again (never trusting their website or any department store's website ever again!), it specifically indicated that one can be ordered and sent to the store location it specified. My credit card went through and the purchase was completed on Dec. 21st. Since it had to be ordered and delivered, it wasn't going to arrive until after the holidays, ie Jan. 2nd or so. But then I get an email saying that my refund request was received and being processed! What?! Furthermore, the website with it's cute graphic display of stages of delivery, received, etc., showed that it went through an arrival stage, but then a return and refund stage. This was all without my doing or even any notification that this was actually happening. When all I really wanted was the jewelry itself to give as a holiday present. Why have all this misinformation and hopes that a product is available, go through the purchase process, only to show that this product didn't exist in the first place. Both the website and customer service said the jewelry was in inventory but after talking to customer service about the conflicting info., they confirmed that the product was sold-out not only in the specific location pick-up, or surrounding locations, but on their online inventory as well. Well done Nordstrom, you just lost a customer unless you can compensate me. I live right across from a Nordstrom and my family and I have been shopping there for years, and at your flagship store in Seattle.
