Maui Jim
Maui Jim traces its sandy roots back to 1980, when it began selling sunglasses on Ka'anapali Beach in Lahaina, Maui. The company's revolutionary PolarizedPlus2® lens tamed intense glare and harmful UV rays, while also enhancing the island's brilliant natural colors. Maui Jim now offers more than 100 styles of polarized sunglasses, all of which provide 100% protection from UVA and UVB rays.

I have had these sunglasses for several years. I keep buying them when I lose mine. My husband and I are Maui Jim Sunglass fans. We both have at least 3 pair (each).

Reader portion too small
I specifically ordered these for the 1.5 reader functionality of the sunglasses. The area that the reader portion of the lens took up was way too small. I had to keep tipping my head back to be able to read anything more than a couple of lines.
Also the lens itself was too small for my liking. It fell below my eyebrow so I would have had to use a visor to keep any overhead sun from my vision.
I returned them to Nordstrom.

Arms break at hinge easily
Was very excited when ordering these. I read that reader panel was too low and too small, which is true, but I could live with this TBH. They were not only lighter, but felt more flimsy than expected for 'sports' sunglasses. Have always used Oakley for spot previously, which I have been very happy with, but was seduced by the reader pain. Have needed to treat them more carefully when sailing, but have still had to return them twice for repair. Not at the nose, unlike other posts, but the arm has broken off at the hinge, twice. I will beed to tape them before using them again!

Love these.
This is my third pair. I love being able to read outside with them. I’m worried because my presbyopia is getting worse and the highest power they have is 2.50. 😳

Did not work well for me
Aloha,
I am so glad you asked! I have been meaning to contact you folks.
These did not work well for me. I tried wearing them on several occasions, for various amounts of time, at different times of day and while doing various tasks and found each time I got a headache. I dont normally get headaches so it was obvious the reason. They may work well for some, unfortunately not for me. I do not wear prescription glasses, I have used readers for years. I think the combination simply did not work for me. I think the quality and value as with all Maui Jim glasses I have owned is outstanding.
Mahalo, Connie
