Matteo Stripe Robe

While the item description is vague, implying it's a unisex robe, let's be honest: This is a mens robe. The all cotton seersucker fabric is lovely and it's well made. I can imagine my father wearing it while scuffing around the house in his slippers. But if you're a pear-shaped woman, don't expect this robe to close across your hips. So I'm returning it and will continue my hunt for a lightweight, long, natural fabric, non-knit dressing gown. It doesn't help matters that even if I had been willing to go inside a store, I would not have been able to try this item on because it was only available online.

It’s just what I wanted! Oops! Except that it’s HUGE. I love the subtle color, the light weight and the simple bathrobe style. But the description of the robe did NOT say Unisex or Men’s or even Spa style. I got a Small because I expected it to be a little larger than other clothing; but I swim in this. I am 5’7”, 145 lbs.

Agree with other reviewers that the robe runs large. I’m 5’6” and usually a size 8/medium. I sized down to an extra small and it’s slightly big across my shoulders but I love it. I can understand why some reviewers thought it was an “old man robe” but I think the masculine robe on a woman is beautiful. The material is light and perfect for a warm climate. It is exactly what I was looking for and I’m pleasantly surprised by it.

This robe is a beautiful Seersucker fabric, a favorite for those of us that live in a warm climate. The robe is styled in a boxy shape as a spa robe is typically shaped. The body runs large, so order a size down from your normal size. I am 5'1" and normally wear a size 6 and I needed an extra small. The good news is that the sleeves and hem do not need to be shortened (spa robes typically go down to my fingertips). I had to return and reorder the robe I purchased for my husband because medium/large robe was so large it could have wrapped around both of us. He typically wears a 33 waist pant and large shirt. He needs a small in this robe.

Just what I wanted - a big crisp seersucker robe that wraps across the body and feels light on the skin. This is a really big robe, with dropped shoulder seams. I will need to move the belt loops, though - because they are very low and not at my waistline. I don't know whether I should have ordered the small size - I wanted the robe to wrap easily in the front, and it does. It is a treat to wear, and the quality of the fabric is excellent.
