Junior Mixture Nylon & Boar Bristle Hair Brush for Medium to Long Hair

I went back and forth on whether or not to get this brush, but the timing was right and the need was more dire than I thought. I work out (read: sweat) every day and have been experiencing an unhappy scalp with itchiness and flakes for the better part of a year, even though I was meticulous about the products I used. I tried everything under the sun to remedy it. Turns out, I just needed the right brush to distribute the natural oils in my hair. No joke, within one week of regular use of the brush, the itchiness and flakes are GONE. I am a believer, and I know I'll have this brush for years to come. Worth every penny!

I love this brush! I use it multiple times during the day. I have long (down to my waist), thick and wavy hair. I've been using this brush for about 2 weeks now, and I can definitely see and feel the improvement in the texture and shine on my hair. I had been debating whether or not to spend so much on a brush. After reading a lot of reviews (on Nordstrom and on other sites as well), I decided to make the splurge. The other decision was whether to order the Junior or Popular size. I came across a youtube video of Mally (Mallybeauty) talking about these brushes being her favorite. She uses the Pocket and Junior. Since my hair length, and thickness (from what I can see) is similar to hers, I decided to order the Junior. I do feel that the Junior is big enough and works well enough for my hair. I also opted to order from Nordstrom because of Nordstrom's excellent customer service and satisfaction guarantee. I figured if the brush didn't live up to my expectation and/or the size didn't work for me, there will not be a problem returning or exchanging the brush. To date, I am very happy and satisfied with this brush :)

I have long, wavy/curly, thick hair--the actual strands are fine, but there's a lot of it. I haven't really brushed my hair and scalp in a number of years; in large part it was a case of not being able to find the right brush that would get through my hair and to the scalp. And because of the curls, I've simply been using a wide tooth comb after applying conditioner to ensure the tangles are all removed and gone on from there to apply some styling creme and let it air dry or use a diffuser on my blowdryer if I have the time. Washing my hair was a nightmare as I had nothing to use get rid of the tangles beforehand, so even if I tried to use conditioner first it was still a rat's nest and a mess to comb through afterwards. Enter this wonderful, fabulous Mason Pearon brush and everything has changed. While I still don't brush my hair every day as it would remove the curl, I do find that when those curls are starting to droop, using the brush is an incredible experience! The first time I used it, my scalp is was in a tingling nirvana and I was able to style my hair in different ways that the curls usually don't allow. Oh, the delight of feeling the bristles on my scalp! It was and is an utter delight and makes my hair glisten. It also makes washing my hair much easier because instead of trying to wash that tangled rat's nest, with the brush I have a nice smooth sheath of hair that washes easily, rinses like a dream and soaks up the conditioner without having to use my hands and a couple of combs to get the conditioner through my hair and remove all the tangles. The first time I washed my hair after getting my brush was such a delight--it's amazing how those little things in life can become so much easier with just the right hair brush! If I could, I would use this brush every day, every morning and night! It's a wonderful experience and I HIGHLY recommend this brush for everyone! BTW, the brush is a breeze to clean, using both your hands and with the included "cleaning brush" that is to be used with the brush both when it is dry--to ensure all the hair is removed--and when the brush needs to be "washed", so be sure to follow the directions on how to clean the brush to maximize its lifespan. The brush is so well made that its well worth the cost, so take the few extra minutes to care for your brush and your scalp and hair will be happy for many, many years!

I bought this Mason Pearson brush about the year 1996 from Nordstrom at Washington Square. I have used this brush for a very long time and couldn't imagine not having it. It distributes oils, it takes it takes a minimal amount of brushing to brush my very fine hair that breaks easily and it is long lasting and does not break down. So it helps me have more beautiful hair. If you are on the fence about this brush because of the price, consider how long you will have it and how useful it will be for you. It's definitely worth the money.

I’ve been lusting for this brush for years, as my daughter has one. She has to have the best in every thing, and I love to brush my hair, but felt it was too much money for me to spend on one. My daughter, Holly, surprised me with one for Mother’s Day along with some Hanro panties! They are the softest 100% cotton ever! They are the Mason Pearson of panties! Try them! I couldn’t believe how soft they are and how good they feel on you. Now she’s going to read this review to her husband and they’re going to have a big laugh! I love her and Brian!

I've had my eye on this brush for about 2 years and finally splurged. It's absolutely worth every penny. I don't even need to use my flatiron, as it makes my hair so shiny and smooth. I even use it on my daughters hair and it slides right through (no more tears as I try and get knots out). This brush is an investment and something I will have forever.
