Handy Bristle Hair Brush for Medium Length Hair

I thought Nordstrom had sent the wrong brush when I opened the package. This "handy bristle" brush is very small - about the length of your hand (8 -8.5") and be advised that I am talking from the tip of the handle to the top of the oval portion of the brush. So you only have about 4 inches of boar bristles to brush your hair with. It is like a little girl's brush. Nordstrom needs to do a better job of describing the Mason - Pearson brushes it does carry. The manufacturer's brochure that was included in the package provides a clear description which might help others decide what size brush to buy. "Ladies Hairbrushes are made in four sizes - Large, Medium, Handy and Pocket are available in boar bristle, bristle-and-nylon mixture or nylon. Dark Ruby, Ivory White, Blue or Pink plastic backs are made in all sizes. Light natural wood backs are available in the large and medium models only." Nordstrom does not carry all the sizes described. So I will now return this one and locate another vendor and get an adult size "Medium" MP brush.

LIke many people, I waited years to purchase the Mason Pearson brush because it's ridiculously expensive for a brush. I mean, seriously--it's ridiculous. But, it is the best brush I've ever used. It's like a magic trick. I have fine, straight hair, and this brush will smooth and flatten, or if I brush from underneath, it will volumize my hair. Magic. I was already going a few days between washings, using dry shampoo, but this brush allows me not to look like I have perpetual bedhead. Thanks, Mason Pearson. And thanks for not hurting the boars.

I bought this brush for one of the people I work for...It is outstanding...Nothing compares to a Mason Pearson brush. They come for ever kind of hair to the most fine To the most thick uncountable hair there is.. I was first introduce to one from my best friend. Who works in Hollywood...She also does the movie stars hair. She sent this one for my Birthday.. After I started using it.. I and others indeed could see a very big difference in my hair..Mason Person has every kind of brush there is... My boss saw a very big difference in my hair.. So she also wanted one...I do a lot of shopping for other people...I am responsible to get what they want...They also make brushes also for men... Yes I would recommend this brush for a friend.. Like my best friend did for me....

I have relaxed hair that reaches the clasp of my bra strap. I couldn't decide on the pure or mixed brush. I ended up with the pure (B3)...which is perfect! I've never had a brush stimulate my scalp without flattening my hair. I can keep my bounce (after a wash & set) and really enjoy the experience. I saw about three strands of hair on the brush, but just removed a weave. My stylist describes my hair as thin and said that the mixed brush would kill the body. I've purchased a ton of brushes during my lifetime and nothing compares to this!

Like many, I wanted this brush for a long time but was skeptical of its price. It's just okay and I was expecting a lot. I think the brand is a legend the product doesn't really deserve. In fairness, I chose the type/size online and maybe I would have selected a different version in the store. I have fine hair, but it's not thin and I wish the brush had longer bristles. It's not very satisfying at all for a night-time brushing. Some things are better to select when you can pick them up to feel the shape and weight, etc., and for me, this is one of them.

I'm not one to chose the most expensive anything but I do appreciate quality and am willing to pay for it. This is one of those invaluable luxuries that is worth the cost. My hair dresser was very pleased that I purchased this and agreed that it will keep my hair healthy for years to come. It feels wonderful to use.
