We are very sorry to hear that the vest sustained damage during the first time wash. We always recommend following the laundering instructions provided on the laundering tag sewn into one of the seams of the product, and additionally we recommend some further steps: For this vest, we would recommend washing the garment in luke-warm water on gentle cycle, with Nikwax Down Wash Direct (for cleaning) or Nikwax Down Proof (for waterproofing). Then, dry the garment on low heat with 2-3 tennis balls or thick rolled-up socks to re-fluff the down. If you followed the steps included on both laundering tag and the instructions on our website, we might advise you to submit a warranty claim, so we could take a look at the damage and assess if we could help you out with the matter.
