What it is: A set featuring full sizes of Mario Badescu's hard-working products to help treat acne-erupted skin, leaving it clear and healthy.
Set includes:
- Full-size Drying Lotion (1 oz.): a beloved and famous drying lotion that helps heal and dry surface pimples or whiteheads overnight.
- Full-size Drying Cream (0.5 oz.): an effective treatment to help dry up small under-the-surface bumps and pimples.
- Full-size Buffering Lotion (1 oz.): a potent sulfur- and salicylic-acid solution that helps minimize large clusters of acne, prevent future eruptions and reduce inflammation and redness.
How to use: At night after cleansing, toning and moisturizing, apply a dab of Drying Lotion directly on whiteheads using a cotton swab. Do not rub in. Let it dry and rinse off in the morning. Do not shake the bottle, and apply only the pink sediment on the skin. Apply Drying Cream sparingly on pimples by dabbing with fingertip until cream blends into the skin. It's best when applied after moisturizer and before makeup. After cleansing and toning, shake the bottle of Buffering Lotion well and apply with fingertips to erupted areas of face or directly on the individual, cystic pimples. Use every other night.

I was a little hesistant about purchasing this because of the price. I have bought other acne kits before and this is the only one that works. You only use a little of the products so they lasts for a REALLY long time. I use the drying lotion and buffing lotion before bed and all of my bumps are gone in the morning.

Very Poor Quality Ingredients
Let me start off by saying I was very excited to try this kit since I have always used the drying lotion by itself. It works great in moderation! However I was very disappointed with the other products. Trying out the hydrating lotion for the first time I noticed a pungent smell. Low and behold I look at the first ingredient-- "isopropyl alcohol." I'm so but for such a price to use drugstore ingredients? I can get these (and the rest I will not mention) from my chemistry laboratory and mix it up, NOT pay over 40$ for. Very disappointed in the poor quality of these expensive items. Do not recommend and will not be buying again. Except for the drying lotion, which is where my one star even comes from.

I have cystic acne in my 30's and bought this for the buffering lotion on the recommendation of a friend. It does help cysts disappear quickly without turning into messy blemishes if applied early when you can first feel them, for me both morning and night work fine. A nice surprise was the drying cream, which does smell a bit strong and is best applied at night to larger problem areas (for me, entire chin and both sides of nose). It has really smoothed and cleared those areas of tiny blemishes and bumps. Will be buying more of this brand for sure.

Didn't work for me - but might work for you!
I read a number of good reviews about the Mario Badescu line before purchasing this product. Unfortunately, it was not a success for me. It dried out my skin and made me look so much older! I think it was just too harsh for my sensitive, acne prone skin.
However, I took it back into Nordstrom about a week after trying it out. The Advanced Skincare manager (believe that was her title) helped me out with the return and recommended another product. We discussed my skin for a long time and she gave me a number of Kate Somerville samples. She was a very emphatic saleswoman and vocally committed to helping me find the correct skincare line rather than selling me products that wouldn't work. I wouldn't recommend Mario Badescu for anyone with dry, sensitive skin but the customer service and return policy at Nordstrom is idyllic. So why not try something new and if it doesn't work, go speak with one of their salespeople who can help you find the right product.

Love this!
I have adult acne on my chin and dry, red cheeks with small bumps and NOTHING worked, including 2 years with a dermatologist and prescriptions. I bought this and other items the Mario Badescu website recommended and I am actually seeing my skin clear up! I have been using these for about a week and a half. The specialist at Mario Badescu told me to use the Drying Lotion on pimples that have already come out, and the Buffering Lotion on any cystic (below the surface) acne. They have done wonders. They do dry out the area but exfoliation takes care of that. Not sure about the Drying Cream for me; a little too strong for my dry, sensitive skin to put over a large area. But, I like the way it reduces redness under makeup. Products will last forever and kit is a great value too!! Try it!

This stuff will suck the life out of your festering party crasher. The drying cream is ok, I really didn't see much of a difference. But the buffering lotion will absolutely start the drying portion as soon as you apply it! Add the drying mask over it and it will boost the process. I'm about to order those two again oh and the drying lotion. I've never experienced acne until I was an adult and this is my go to game changer!
