Sonata Ponte Knit Midi Cocktail Dress

The style is the only reason I give 3 stars. I love the way it looks but the material and fit leave a lot to be desired. The thin, stretchy, knit fabric is much too casual (read: cheap) for a cocktail dress and the fit is larger than the size chart. If you are even slightly short waisted, the seaming on the waist will fall below the intended area and the zipper will bulge on the back. You can kind of see it on the model too. It looks off. Also, your left breast may peek out a little too much. If this had been made in a better quality, more structured ponte fabric, I believe that would have aided with the fit issue enough to keep it, but this fabric, at this price point (and i got it on sale) is much too expensive for an ill fitting cheap looking dress.

I purchased this to wear to my son’s wedding. I had tried it on and looked at so many dresses that just didn’t feel like me. But when I saw this one and saw the neck line, I knew it was just what I wanted. And then when it came in the mail and I tried it on and saw And felt the quality of the fabric, I knew I had chosen well!
