I have skinny calves so when I see so many comments about calves, and see lower reviews, I usually think it’s a boot that will work for me. I was right. Love these. Might get them in every color. I average an 8.5 but can be an 8, 8.5, or 9. I’m leaning toward keeping the 8 but the 8.5 works too.

baggy calves
These are definitely not for me. The boot shaft has no structure. They are baggy and HUGE. My legs are thin, but not extremely so. These are awful.

Stunning but....
OMG I am a slave for these boots. I HAD to have them. I love the style, the toe shape, heel, leather and the gorgeous cognac color. I was so excited to get these and looked forward to wearing them BUT when I tried them on, they were a no go.
I initially bought a size 7 which is my normal Marc Fisher size and I feel I could have used a 6.5 as my foot was sliding a little bit in the boot. One another note, the boot shaft is way too tall for my legs. I am 5 feet tall with a slender/athletic build. I have long legs for a short girl. (I'm short waisted) The top of the boot shaft hit in the middle of my knee. It was uncomfortable as can be. I even thought about taking them to a shoemaker to have them cut down that's how badly I wanted them but at the $300 price point I felt they should have been perfect without alterations.
I have noticed other reviews stating the same issue and other reviews about narrow calves. I DO NOT think they were too narrow in the calf area and I have strong, dancer calves. They were a perfect fit other than the 16" shaft.
To everyone who has long enough legs to wear these. I am mildly jealous.

Not for people that are under 5'7"
I am 5'5" and these hit in the middle of the knee causing bunching. Also, the fit all through the leg/calf was extremely large. I am a 9.5 and the actual shoe fit my foot fine but man, the bagginess in the calf and the weird height did not work for me. I would highly recommend measuring before purchasing but I would bet you need to be 5'7" in order for these to fit well.

Beautiful Dark Red Boots
The color is a dark red that can pass as a rich reddish brown (which I love). The leather is soft & feels luxurious. The heel is a little higher than I normally wear but they are still very comfortable. Only problem is the leather on one is scratched and whoever tried it on (in shipping maybe?) didn’t bother to even put the packing inserts back in. Just threw them in the box. This color is no longer available so I’ll keep.
