Small Leather Tote

4 stars because Nordstrom’s shipped it in a box that was too small. It came crumpled, but I was able to restore the shape. The other reason for the 4 stars is that the handles are too short that make a tight fit for a shoulder bag. Why do this to an otherwise great bag? However, I knew this before I purchased due to Nordstrom’s video, so it obviously was not a deal breaker. I can still wear it on my shoulder with a tshirt or blouse. Come winter with thick blazers and sweaters, it will be a crook of the arm bag, which I am not sure how I will like that. The color is darker than pictured, but I’d say better. I’d call it butterscotch. The lining is a pretty color pink. I love linings that are not black because it is so hard to see into a black hole . Many nonblack linings are too colorful and loud, but this is the perfect petal pink. I debated about whether to get the large or small. I’m glad I got the small because it fits everything (phone, small wallet, sunglasses, face mask, keys) and my surface pro. Then there is still room to throw in a sweater a child is tired of wearing or a purchase from the farmers market. The bag stands on its own even with the laptop in it. This is important to me. I don’t like bags that slump over, although I’ll probably need to lean the laptop one way and then the other alternately to help keep the bag’s shape. I love open bags, so if you like a zip or organizational pockets, this is not the bag for you. The pouch is useless. A lot of open bags come with a pouch and I always cut them off. There have been times when I’ve had a huge tote that I wished I had a clutch, but you would still need something bigger than provided. With this compact yet roomy tote, it works fine as is and no clutch or zipper bag is needed.

This is such a great bag. Another review said the leather quality wasn’t soft. This bag is meant to be a sturdy, formed/shaped tote - which is exactly what I was looking for. The quality is great. I bought a tote organizer that is helpful when I’m carrying my kids stuff or I just want some extra organization. Overall great bag and I’ll likely buy the brown color as well.
