As a long time fan of wood-wicked candles, I was SO excited to discover mala. First off, I want to say the one-star reviews claiming the wood wicks can’t hold a flame are from people who have not read the guidance included in the box to TRIM THE WICK before lighting— if you keep it trimmed, the flame is great. Most wood-wicked candles I was able to find in the past only came in less feminine, more woodsy scents, but mala’s scents have so much range across the collection and I haven’t met a scent I don’t like from them! The silk scent is particularly great and fireside is incredible for cozy winter days. I don’t normally like sweet scents either, but they put a tea-light sample of milk + sugar in my first shipment, and that was great too! And on top of that, it’s a sustainable, woman-owned small business charging very reasonable prices compared to many candle brands! I’m probably like 9 candles in already and can’t see myself going to another candle brand anytime soon!
