Riley Diversa Chelsea Boot (Men)

I was invited to a black-tie event in Los Angeles and began seeking a shoe to complement my new black tuxedo. I quickly became very disillusioned with the selection. As a ”proper” gentleman, I learned that a black patent leather or a velvet shoe is the most appropriate. However, recently some gentlemen have been relaxing that rule with a simple black shoe with a very high polish. I have seen several men wearing a clean Chelsea Boot during the Oscar season. While searching for a simple black shoe, I discovered these Magnanni boots and thought, although they are an unconventional choice they may pair nicely with my tuxedo and allow for a nice addition to my shoe collection, as opposed to the alternative of spending $150-250 on a “black tie” shoe that I may wear 2-3 times a year, max. The shoes have a very clean modern shape which can be polished to (and will keep) a high shine. In addition, the boots have Magnanni Diversa comfort tech technology which is incredibly comfortable and slip-resistant, which is a big advantage on the dance floor. Magnanni also claims the boot is “Water Resistant” which may come in handy as I live in the Midwest and we see a lot of snow. If you need a comfortable boot that can be worn for a wide variety of occasions, I would consider this boot. And as another review stated, they do run 1/2 size too large. I am a 12 and purchased an 11.5.

These boots are the most comfortable pair of boots I’ve ever worn. I’ve worn them with jeans, I’ve worn them to a dressy event, and now out in a social setting and they still wear very comfortably. They’re very sleek and fit perfectly. I usually put insoles in just about all my footwear, and typically about an 11.5 in most men’s shoes, but description to go one size down was spot on. I own several pairs of Magnanni shoes and all have been absolutely amazing! I have everything from loafers to oxfords and now these Chelsea boots. If your question to me is would I recommend these boots to others, ABSOLUTELY!!!
