The Abroad Tote Bag

I was so excited to order this bag for work. The picture shows a structured tote that would be good for work. Unfortunately the leather is very thin. I couldn’t carry my 13” laptop in the bag with out the bag falling over and spilling the contents on the floor. I wanted to love this bag, it just wasn’t functional and I had to return it.

I waited so long for the black to come back in stock. I brought it soon as it did and I'm so glad I did. I absolutely love this bag. Size is perfect. I've carried the Medium Transport Tote for the past 2 years and am finally transitioning to a new bag. I would definitely recommend the Abroad Tote. Well worth the price!!

I have been shopping at Madewell for years, this is the first time I ordered a bag from Madewell. I got the desert camel, the color looks soft and nice, looks better than the in the picture. Also, it's a good quality and well made bag. The handle is a good length. I like how they detailed the stitches on the bag, I can put my 13 inch Mac pro in with case, still have enough room for sun glasses, make -up pouch, purse and other stuff! LOL. This bag weights almost nothing, I love it! The leather is nice and flexible, I am 5'3 and petite, and this bag looks perfect not overwhelming at all., I can not say enough how much I love this bag and I highly recommend it!

This is my first Abroad tote bag. I bought the Cinnabar to change things a bit from my usual brown bags. I'm so glad I ordered this color, because I had ordered the Olive color initially and wasn't too thrilled with the bag probably because I have so many neutral colored bags. Anyway, this pop of red makes just about any outfit come to life. I'm so happy I took another chance ,because I truly love this bag mainly because of the color. It's a beautiful deep red, so it's suitable enough for a more dressed up outfit and elevates a more casual one. I've already received compliments. Also, it seems a bit more durable than my Transport tote, Very pleased with my purchase!

I really hesitated ordering a tote because I am very petite, and they can be easily overwhelming. However, I loved the shape and color (red!), and I couldn’t resist. I’m so glad I bought it! I get so many compliments. Just the right size to carry everything I need. It is too small at the bottom for a larger laptop, but I can fit mine in if I don’t zip it shut. A tablet fits easily, with plenty of room for a small water bottle, wallet, etc. I can throw in a light sweater, too. I wish I had been able to get it monogrammed. Changes I would make are minor: I wish the one large pocket were sewn to make a couple smaller ones and the zipper were not so long. Even with that, I can’t love a bag any more than I love this one!

The leather is beautiful and I love the finish of this bag but the strap is too short to wear over jackets and coats and frequently slips off. It also starts to hurt if worn for longer than 10 minutes if you're carrying anything more than a laptop. Not because of the weight, but because the strap easily digs in.
