CUTE!
What a CUTE sweater. I love the ruffle detail on the sleeves and around the neck. It was a little shorter in the torso than I expected but not like a crop top, but it hits like right at the top of the hip. It is exactly what I was hoping for.

I love the styling/concept of this sweater. However, it was a complete fail for me/my body type. The neck was a mock neck style on me and the sleeves looked terrible. It was as though I was going for a Victorian clown look - not cute. The medium fit, but was too form-fitting and the large was looser, but oddly cropped. This was the worst sweater from Madewell, which is sad because I wanted to love it and own several pieces from Madewell that I'm still infatuated with.

Itchy on the neck ruffle
It feels low end.
Didn’t like the green. The ruffle gets my neck itchy.
Didn’t spark joy. Having an itchy neck doesn’t spark joy for me.

Subtle Style and Character
Oh my gosh I absolutely love this sweater. It's got such subtle style and character. The sleeves are so adorable...and so is the neckline...but it also feels like a solid basic/closet staple. At first I thought the material felt itchy but once I put it on there was no itchiness whatsoever. The sweater is a tiny bit short (hence the reason for one less star) but it didn't feel like a full-on cropped sweater. Love all things Madewell and this is one of my new go-to faves!

Does not wash well
Very cute sweater and loved it upon arrival. I precisely followed washing instructions and the fibers shrunk up. (It’s 30% wool) It’s now itchy and fits awkwardly. I would not buy it again.

Unfortunately this one is going back. The sleeves were comically short. They hit well above the wrist, and this is not a 3/4 length (though they were too long to be considered that). I also agree with the reviewer that noted the ruffle neck was awkward. The material is good quality and the knit pattern is cute but this one was miss for me. Have to send it back :(
