Cute, comfortable and quirky
These boots are kinda quirky, but adorable and comfortable. As other reviewers mentioned, they remind me a little of a rain boot, but they look great with jeans or tights/leggings. I have narrow feet and am usually a pretty solid size 7 in any shoe, so I figured these would work for me since the reviews suggested they run narrow. Based on the reviews, I ordered them in a 7 and a 7 1/2. They probably do (run narrow) because the width fits me fine in my usual size 7, but my toes are at the very top, so feel a bit cramped even with a thin sock. So for my feet, the width is fine, but the length is a bit short. They aren't at all what I thought I was looking for, but I'm keeping the 7 1/2. Did I mention they are very cute.

I wanted these boots when I first saw them at made well but was able to buy them on sale at Nordstrom and also use points. Score! I waited for over a week to get them corona-shipped to my house. I was so excited. I tried them on before the UPS guy made it back to his truck! They were tight. Very tight and I wasn't even wearing socks. I was hoping to wear thick socks through the winter months with these boots but they fit so uncomfortably that I want to go up a size to see if that is any better. I wear a 10 in most brands and I've never had to size up with Madewell shoes. The 11's are the only size sold out in the Chestnut color. I wish Nordstrom had an "email me when back in stock" option. Maybe the "wishlist" will work in this way? Frustrating.

Not comfortable
I found these boots to be TTS, but they were very uncomfortable and I had to return them. They were stiff and don't bend with your foot when you walk. I felt like Frankenstein. I thought they possibly would have an inch heal, but they were completely flat, so that added to the awkwardness. If not for all that, the quality was good. Maybe if you were to wear them a lot, they would break in and not be so stiff.

I wish these worked out
These are so beautiful. The leather is nice and supple. But the boot is narrow and runs small. I’ve never had a problem with shoes not fitting in width. So i didn’t think they would be a problem. I wish a half size bigger was available. Unfortunately, these beautiful boots had to go back. I love Madewell but so disappointed.
