Healthy skin
I am 64 and have cancer - due to both my skin just doesn't have that healthy glow without this makeup. I am truly pleased to have something to help me look better - healthy - without looking overly made up. It looks natural.

Not Flattering
I normally use the MAC studio but I wanted to see if the tech was better. Nope. It made my complexion look dull and uneven. It also didn't last long. I won't purchase it again.

MAC Studio Tech for best coverage
I had been using another brand of compact foundation and decided I needed a bit more coverage.
I did research and found that MAC makes a couple of formulas. I got my makeup done by a MAC artist one day and the artist used the 'Mineralize' compact on me. I have combination skin with a very oily t-zone so the Mineralize turned into a big oily mess on my face as the day wore on. I also live in a very warm and often humid climate so I went back to the MAC counter to pick up the Studio Tech instead.
The artist informed me that Mineralize is best on drier, older skin. I'm in my early 30s and do have some dry spots, but my main problem is oil. I also need coverage on my t-zone so I went with the Studio Tech.
The artist also warned that many people complained about the application of Studio Tech being difficult and that a moisturizer is a must. I have MAC 'Prep + Prime BB' Beauty Balm Compact which I apply before the Studio Tech foundation and the application is smooth and flawless.
I discovered I can control the coverage by using a "blotting" technique for lighter coverage. I use prep + prime translucent finishing powder and the result is flawless. The Studio Tech foundation lasts pretty much all day.
I prefer compact foundation since I'm always on the go. This compact is great for traveling as well. Application is quick and easy and you don't have to worry about spills or breaks. The sponge is kept in a separate compartment within the compact, which keeps things more sanitary.
I highly recommend Studio Tech if your skin isn't too dry or aging and if you need coverage and a quick and easy application.

Disappointing
I've used MAC's Studio Fix Powder Foundation for years, but I decided to try Studio Tech for a bit more coverage. I thought it would be similar to Studio Fix, but it wasn't; it feels cold and wet as it goes on, and it's so thick that it's like trying to spread concealer all over your face. Despite that thickness, its coverage wasn't that great, and it doesn't go on smoothly or look good on dry skin. Back it went, and I'll stick with liquid foundation in the winter and Studio Fix in summer.

Studio Tech
I love the coverage of the product. It goes on super smooth and lasts for the better part of the day. It is light and in the extreme heat stays put.

Studio tech
I have found this to be one of the best foundations to cover dark spots. You can start with a very light coverage and layer for more coverage is you wish. I have purchased this previously, and then try something else, then return back to this one.
Because of the sponge applicator, it does get used up faster than most liquid foundations.

I have used the MAC Studio Fix liquid foundation (breaks me out when used daily) and the MAC Stick (great for on-the-go). I loved this creamy Studio tech cream...the best so far. Can be applied sheer to full in coverage with a brush, blends perfect. I am a NW20 straight across the board in MAC foundations; love it that I can experiment with all their foundation products without worrying about color match. Not a powdery finish, which is nice for aging skin, still looks youthful with a satin finish.
