What it is: A lightweight gel lotion primer formulated with special-effect silicones.

What it does: It evens out skin redness and skin tone while adding radiance and improving the laydown and application of foundation or powder. The primer is formulated with good-for-skin ingredients such as green tea, caffeine and algae extract.
How to use: Smooth primer evenly all over your face or to desired areas, after your moisturizer but before your foundation. Apply with your fingertips, a sponge or a brush.

Give it a try!
I love the way the P&P evens your skin tone out, makes your make-up look beautiful.
It does, however, take a little time to get used to the "special effect silicones". It adds a little sparkle here and there. But if you try it, I believe you will like it.
I have also used this product alone when I didn't want to put make-up on - I like the way it looks alone, too.
Just be careful you don't use too much, it doesn't take much to cover your face and practice makes perfect!

I use all MAC products on for face these days, everything has always been great. Well, I bought this primer because I did not want to have to touch up my makeup on my wedding day next month. I asked about a long wear foundation, but the girl at the counter was just raving about this primer saying I would be much better off with this (Ugh I should have known better than to buy from a girl who responds: "ummm it's gel based" when I asked if it would make me break out.) There is a slight shimmer to it but it goes away as soon as it goes on your face, so it's not a big deal. The consistency is normal and it feels great on your skin. The problem is, after 1-2 hours wearing it, I was an OIL SLICK! I mean a shiny, greasy mess. Now, I gave it the benefit of the doubt thinking maybe I used too much, or too little, or it was hot in my house that day, but unfortunately as much as I wanted to love this, it was just not for me. Sadly I will be returning. If you are more on the oily side, you have been warned.

It's good
This is a good primer. Not my favorite as it does take a little longer to set before I can apply make-up. It creates an OK base for make up application. Unless you have flawless skin, I don't think this helps create a perfectly primed face and I don't see it reducing pores. However, if you just want a light and highly moisturizing base with a slight shimmer, then this is good. Nothing wrong with it, but it's not a 5 star primer. For what it is, I think it's overpriced, especially compared to how well priced MAC make-up is. For this price point I want more of a flawless base for make-up application. Just not worth the price, but nothing wrong with it.

better off with smashbox primer
MAC makeup is always raved about so I thought the primer would be worth a shot. I see nothing special about it so far. People say it has a shine to it, and it does have fine sheen-y particles that disappear on me when I spread it out. The consistency is similar to Urban Decay Complexion Perfection (?) primer-so, on the heavy side. Kinda pasty, which feels kind of wierd and heavy to me. It seems to hold my makeup pretty well, so it definitely works. I'm not a fan of the consistency, so I dont think I will be buying again. I am used to Laura Mercier primer which is actually kinda runny and really sinks in to your skin like lotion. Will stick to Smashbox and Laura Mercier for my primer needs.

Mac Prep and Prime
I received this as a sample, used it and was very pleased with the results. The creamy formula glides on, and smooths out any rough, or uneven skin tone areas. Makes my skin feel amazing. There is no scent to this product. I call it pure magic.
I purchased this, immediately. It is well worth the price. Works well alone, or with foundation over it.

Sexy moisturizer!
This prep and prime is perfect for everyday use by itself or under powder/foundation. It is light and has shimmer in it so it looks good all by itself for everyday use.

Super product
I am a Mac fiend. Just heard about the use of primers and I ordered this - it is super. Keeps make up on for the whole day, and in a hot and humid climate that is next to impossible. Very happy indeed.
