What it is: A creamy lip liner in a wide range of colors designed for shaping, lining or filling in lips to pair with lipstick.

What it does: The iconic lip liner does way more than draw the line. Praised by pros and loved by you, this must-have for every makeup bag features a smooth and creamy texture to shape, fill or line lips—without the drags or skips. Add subtle depth and dimension or completely exaggerate your shape with this ultraprecise Lip Pencil that can create natural definition or a fuller-looking effect in seconds. Wear this versatile staple on its own or with your favorite MAC Lipstick, Lipglass or both. Available in a wide range of artist-approved shades, from the best-selling soft beige-brown Oak to the richest black Caviar. Designed to complement all MAC lip colors to create limitless lip combos, this legendary lineup features world-famous hues, including Whirl, Soar, Chestnut and Spice.

How to use: To naturally define lips, start by outlining the Cupid’s bow with lip liner. Then, switch to the outer corners of upper lips and draw inward until you connect the lines at the center. To enhance your lips and create a fuller-looking effect, trace along your upper lip line while gradually overlining beyond the natural border of your lips. To create a contoured lip look, choose a shade deeper than your Lipstick (sold separately) to outline lips. Then, fill in the center of lips with the lighter Lipstick, slightly overlapping with your liner. Blend with a 316S Brush (sold separately) to create a natural-looking gradient. After Lipstick: to add extra definition, line lips after applying your Lipstick. With Lipglass (sold separately): outline or fill in lips completely, then layer on Lipglass for a high-shine look.

Pro tips: Try a lip liner shade slightly deeper than your lipstick and blend with a 316S Brush (sold separately) for a fuller lip look. Use over Prep + Prime Lip Primer for ultimate comfort.

Hip and Happy colored liner

1st off, I'd like to make the comment that it would be helpful if people who reviewed makeup products would specify the COLOR they are reviewing. Why don't people do this?! Drives me nuts. 'Hip & Happy' is a nice, versatile pinky/beige, that matches 'Saint Germain' Mac lipstick perfectly. Mission accomplished.

HATE THE SMELL AND IS DRYING ON THE LIPS

The matte lipstick from Mac ALL smell horrible, are drying. Will not purchase Mac any longer. It seems all their formulas have changed for the worst in their products. Why change something that is not broke. Since this clean beauty and COVID companies are changing their ingredients to cheaper ingredients and formulas and prices keep going up. Eyeshadows with no pigment, fall out, no staying power. NOT just makeup clothing, household items ect. Who want to spend $100.00'S OF DOLLARS ON DESIGNERS MAKING CLOTHES OUT OF POLYESTER?

This is the perfect shade for any season especially fall/winter. Stays on my lips literally all day and night!

My go-to pencil and color

I am 25-years faithful to MAC lip pencils. No other pencil on the planet is as good. I use many different brands of makeup, but for lip pencils MAC is the only way to go. Creamy application that's never hard or obvious, sharpen like a dream, never break, blend right into your lipstick. Soar is a go-to color - blends with many different shades of neutrals and blush-pinks. Whirl is another neutral color with a tad less pink in it for neutrals/bares. Just turned 50 an am an entertainer - swear by these liners.

“Forever chemical” ingredients

Sure, I loved it on, but then I skimmed the ingredients. Synthetic fluorophlogopite is a manufactured mica, which will give your lips a sparkly shine while feeding you PFAS chemicals. Is that really necessary, MAC???

Finally! a red that looks good on me.

This is a really nice lipstick. Had difficulty finding a bright red for my skin tone. This red doesn’t look too dark and it complements my skin tone. It wasn’t sheer/light , so I didn’t have to use a lot of product to get the color on my lips. If that makes sense.

Sooo silky!

I love this lipstick! Got it in the “Center of Attention” shade which is a beautiful deep red. Upon first application I noticed that it has a very creamy formula that glided on my lips with little to no effort. It’s pretty hydrating for a lipstick it reminds me of a pigmented lip balm. I’m definitely planning on getting more colors! I received this product for free from Topbox Marketing for testing and review purposes.
