A must have & check out my instructions on useage
I have nice long lashes and I use Dior black out mascara. Using this primer makes a big difference. My lashes almost look like fake lashes with this (in a good way). It makes my lashes longer and the combo stays on much longer than the mascara alone and prevents mascara falling down at the end of the day. Make sure after applying, let it sit for about 15 seconds before you apply mascara. If you apply mascara before that, both will be two wet and mix which is something you don't want. If you wait longer than 15 sec, the primer will dry and the mascara won't go on properly at all.

doesn't make applying mascara any easier
I read the reviews about the excess product on the wand. When I first opened the wand, I said 'gee, maybe they fixed that problem'. And then, using it 3-4 times, now I get it. The excess product on the wand and the applicator goop'd up my lashes, making it harder for me to apply mascara. I didn't derive a benefit from using this product. I returned it.

Good primer
I use this primer under my MAC Haute and Naughty Mascara because it does several things for my lashes. First, it does condition them nicely. Second, it adds volume to them, so I don't have to apply as much black mascara. Third, it helps me avoid transfer of mascara to my upper eyelid ( a problem I used to have consistently with other brands).

My Item May Have Be Defect
It could be just the bottle I got but I was unsatisufed by this. So much product was on the brush closest to the wand and there is no really way of getting it back in the bottle.
I noticed on the inside of the wand there would be lots of product that got up in there.
As shown in my photo, some of the primer got on the outside of my bottle where you twist closed, making it impossible to close it all the way. This should not be happening within the 1st/2nd week of use (not daily use.)
Even if it is one of the lowest costing primers you should still get the quality you expect from this MAC product.

Great Primer
I used to buy the MAC Prep and Prime but have officially turned to this product. It is better than the prep and prime! It applies on easily than the prep and prime and doesn't clump up on your lashes or outside of the bottle. I haven't had a problem with it and will continue to buy this product.

Amazing
I just discovered maximizer and I find it amazing. As I've aged my lashes have thinned a bit, but this product makes up for that. It's easy to use - just like putting on mascara, and it makes a huge difference! It helps separate the lashes and extend them, so it looks every bit as good as if I had individual lashes done. I've become a true believer!! And, I will be buying this product again and again.
