must have for blending in the crease

this brush is perfect for blending the color in the crease. Hold it towards the end(not to close to the brush tip) and you'll get better blending. It's 50% brush and 50% how you use it. Get this one instead of 224 for blending. Have both, this one is better.

Synthetic Doesn't Cut It. Loved the Old Natural Hair!

I should've written this quite a while ago. I hate to leave a bad review on a MAC brush. However, when they switched to synthetic it ruined them. I chose the 217 for my review but it applies to all of the newer brushes. I tried a few of the synthetic & do not like at all. To change the iconic 217 was a MAJOR MISTAKE. I have 4 of the old goat hair that are amazing. One is probably 20 years old & still going strong. I have a ton of MAC brushes that I love & use daily but they all are the older natural hair which are awesome. I take great care of them & they're still going strong. I as well as many many others hate the change.

This brush works best for larger lids. Is light and fluffy near the tips, dense closer to the ferrule. Goat's hair. It tends to splay if you don't condition it regularly, more than most of the MAC brushes. use a brush guard to re-shape if it gets too wide. If you are looking to pack on color, reach for 239. If you'd like to build the crease or blend out e/s, best bets are the 222 or 224, depending on your preference. You can use an of these for a wash of color.

Great all around brush

This brush is worth the money. It works for highlighting under the brow, placing shadow all over the lid and blending in the crease. This is a work horse brush.

Great Brush

I use this brush to apply color to my crease. It allows you to stay in the crease or expand upward to your highlight.

A must-have

The 217 is one of the best blending brushes out there and an essential part of any makeup lovers toolbox. It is perfect for blending out lines and creating a seamless eye look. Its also great for a quick and easy natural look, it can easily apply and blend into the crease or across the lid for a quick wash of color. With good care and cleaning this brush will last a long time.

Wish I had found this earlier!!!

Wow...I wish I had known about this brush sooner!!! I have lots of makeup brushes that are just ok (not MAC) but just like others have said, it is the perfect for blending. I have only had it a month but it seems high quality. I didn't like the hairs being light colored at first, but it's easy to clean and makes me feel like I can get rid of at least three other brushes that don't work as well.
