Ellerey Lug Leather Bootie (Women)

I just got the boot today. I bought the white one. The leather itself has character to it. It appears to be the actual skin texture and not a printed on texture. If you want a shoe completely free of wrinkles, don't buy this shoe. The leather is tighter around the toe box (and the toe box is a triangular type shape). Also, the leather is not rolled at the edges, which isn't bad, but I think that rolled edges look better. From what I can tell of the leather quality, it seems pretty good, probably full grain, with 1-3 little splits shown at the top, so no problem (which is pretty good). With any white leather, the leather has to be coated with white, so you might have a little bit of chipping of the white once you wear it a lot. (You can use white leather polish to fix that). I've only walked with them a little bit, but it's comfy with medium thickness socks. My only respite is that the shoe is a bit bigger around the upper ankle. It doesn't taper in much and kinda makes you look like you have thick ankles. This is also with the middle of your foot area. It's wide in the shaft and wide in the middle of your foot, then tight in the toe and heel. Also, the toe box is triangular and pretty small, so it's fine but your toes might get squished a little bit. I got a size 8 and I generally wear size 7.5 a little tight/comfy. With boots like this, that you might be wearing in colder temps, maybe go half a size up if you're gonna wear thick socks, but I'm sure I'd be fine if I just a normal 7.5 too though. So whatever you want really. I hope this helps.

The spliced photo is boot on Nordstrom page, right is real color (the boots shipped). The color is more dramatic on nordy website. Also you need shoe trees (shoe stretcher) because the size is exact without further toe space so a shoe tree will keep the boot from shrinking up. Another problem is the tab in back is almost too tight to slip your finger through, which means trouble as far as manipulating it to help you slip your foot inside the boot. This means you need a metal shoe horn. Fortunately I have shoe trees and shoe horn, both of which I purchased from Nordstrom in Seattle a while back. The walk felt comfortable when I tried the boots on so I hope they stay comfy. I also like the fact of the brand name and also being something from California.

These shoes are gorgeous and great quality. I am so sad I have to return them (I usually wear size 10.5 but thought I would order a 10 just to see. they were a little small). I am still giving them a good review since the quality and comfort is excellent and they do fit true to size. Please get them in half sizes!!

These would have been the ones. I’ve been searching for cute flat high rise booties abs thought these would be great. But once I put my foot in they where just so uncomfortable. I don’t know if it was the cut of the footing or what but they where both tight and loose with weird pinch points. Had to return

I ordered these in the brown and they were so cute, but too narrow for me. I have a bunion on one foot and even though I don’t wear a wide shoe, these just felt too narrow for me. I think they are kind of stiff because the rubber comes up on the sides a little and I wasn’t sure they would break in and loosen up because of the waterproof material. I sadly returned them.
