Imogen Twist Halter Charmeuse Trumpet Gown

I had to wear this dress as a bridesmaid recently. Out of 10 bridesmaids, not one of us could pull it off (even with tailoring). As others have said, the sizing is weird. I got measured by a tailor before ordering the dress and came in at 3 different sizes depending on what you were measuring (bust, waist or hip). I'm dependably a size 2. The dress is not flattering.....

Ordered this dress to wear to a black tie optional wedding. Planned to shorten the length after the wedding so it would be more versatile in my wardrobe. The dress is beautiful and the fabric is forgiving, but it runs really big. Thanks If I’d known I would have ordered a small - a size I never order online. I’d get it altered, but it needs more than just basic alterations to make it fit.

To begin, I had very high expectations for this dress. I purchased this in the cabernet color and it did look similar to the photo, and I gave it two stars because the fabric was a very nice quality. However, the rest of the dress was a big no. I am normally a small/medium (2-4) in dress sizes and ordered the small, thinking I may have to return it if it was too tight. This dress was HUGE on me. It wouldn't have even worked if I had it tailored. It looked like a potato sack and I am 5'5, ~135 pounds. Most dresses also look shapely on me, but this gave me absolutely no shape. The bow was way too long in the back as well. I was very disappointed as there were no smaller sizes available, but even still, they probably would've been too big with the crazy sizing. I do not recommend this.

This dress would be perfect if the back had been designed properly. It seems like the seamstress quit before he or she added a zipper! The back hangs loosely and sags open. You can see the white label on the inside of the dress. I guess a tailor could add a zipper but at this price point the dress should only need size or length alterations.

This beautiful gown is made of a satiny & drapey fabric in a gorgeous muted rose color. I really wanted to like it, but the fit is not for me. Around the neck seems tight fitting and yet the back is so loose and open. It just doesn’t look right. Sadly, I have to return it. It has a floor length that will cover your feet. I am 5‘8“ and (without shoes on) it draped along the floor. It would possibly make a nice bridesmaids dress, but I think it would need alterations.
