Lopez Penny Loafer (Men)

It wasn’t until my 3 order did I get the correct size. I normally wear an 11 US and sometimes larger, though some of my dress shoes are a 10.5. In this style the 10 US fits, so probably order at least a 1/2 size down. Regarding the color, I think Nordstrom may show the style from last year, which is a solid brown. The current version is a “dark brown museum calf” which has a swirling effect of dark and light brown. I’m still trying to figure out if I like the design - if anything it is a bit unusual so that could be a positive or negative, depending on your viewpoint. Regarding the quality of the shoe. For the price I am less than impressed. The finish is flawed in several areas. Additionally the inside is not fully lined - the front bottom of the shoe is not lined, which is a complete disappointment. In summary, I’m really not sure how John Lobb can justify the price. I can buy handmade Alden, Church’s and a number of Italian brands for 1/2 to 2/3 the price, and get much better quality. I’m waiting for delivery of another bench made British loafer to see if I keep this; luckily I can keep them in the box and return much later if necessary since Nordstrom has a liberal return policy.
