Large Le Pliage Tote

I have had multiple Longchamp bags over the years (1 large tote, 2 medium, and 2 small). I purchased a new large tote in June, in the slate color. I want to note that I have had no other issues with my other Longchamp bags, other than normal wear and tear. I used my new slate tote on a daily basis for about a month. When I had my bag in the rain on one occasion, I noticed that the coating on the leather straps had started to peel off. This was the first time this had ever happened to me. I used my other large tote throughout college, in the rain and snow and the leather handles are still in good shape. I am hoping that this was a one off case. I have read other reviews online and have not come across a similar one. But I am weary that Longchamp bags are not made to the quality standard that they used to be.

I use to LOVE these bags. HOWEVER, note the bag and strap sizings. The bag is the same price however the straps are now 2 inces shorter on each side. The old bag you were able to just throw over your arm, now its more like a handbag rather than a nice tote. The actual bag has also gotten smaller. Bring back the old design please!

I love this bag! It's lightweight with plenty of space. I use it as an everyday bag, but it's especially great if you are traveling. Photo is for size reference!

Cute and stylish bag but make sure you are aware of the difference between the large sizes. The old large size is an inch larger (I think on the length and the width) with longer handles and can fit a laptop easily. The new large size is noticeably smaller and will not fit a laptop with a 15 inch screen. I had to exchange my new large size for the old large size. The woman at Nordstrom said both bags have the same sku and she anticipates some problems with customers wanting one and getting the other. Aside from that issue, the bag itself it perfect!

I love this bag! I have it in the beige and navy blue. I typically carry large bags and totes have become my favorite lately because of the functionality. We are in the "after diaper bag but still need to carry some essentials" stage. The straps are thick and sturdy leather but not at all heavy and uncomfortable. They are rounded so as to not dig into your shoulders. The material of the bag itself is thick but not stiff. The beige bag is white inside (which is kind of a bummer) and the navy bag is black on the inside. The bag has a small pocket on the inside near the straps that can fit an iPhone 6. The material of the bag is easy to wipe off but if stained then soap and water will clean it off. It could also be used for books or shopping, however I would be careful not to overstuff. The only drawback which is why I gave it 4 stars is that the bottom corners of my beige bag have started wearing down. Not sure how to avoid this, but it does happen and makes the bag look more worn out that it really is.

I love this classic so much I've gotten six of them over the last few years: seasonal colors (light blue, pink, khaki) and the year round basics (navy, gunmetal, red expandable from Anniversary Sale). I use a leather purse with many pockets that fits perfectly inside to organize all my stuff. (If I ever need to take it out for more on the go storage, I can.) Plus, I added a flat Clinique GWP cosmetic bag as a mini file cabinet for keys, papers, and go to phone pocket so I can always find it. Don't let the thin plastic fabric fool you, these bags are sturdy. Ideal for carry on travel! I knew I was on to something when I counted the number of Longchamp bags on a trip to London in first class, and even more at baggage claim some years ago. I can't go anywhere in NYC subways, streets, or gym without spotting one or more of the large totes. I was in India, at a small tourist rest stop between Delhi and Agra en route to the Taj Mahal, alone in the ladies room, when a gal comes in sporting one of these totes in the same color I had. I pointed to mine, and we had a good laugh, she was from the UK. Some things are universal and this tote is definitely one of the best! Get at least one, customize it to suit your needs. I prefer the longer strap drop.
