Penny Knotted Lamé Sandal (Women)

I bought these shoes on the strength of previous reviews. While they're beautiful, I've decided to return them for 2 reasons...(1) I don't really need gold lame heels (not that I wouldn't wear them to the grocery store if given the opportunity), and (2) there's a card inside the shoebox that says something like, "the delicate nature of these shoes means that they may fray over time." For $400 + tax, I don't think these shoes should EVER fray. They do run small. I normally wear a size 11, but I need a 12 (or 42) in designer shoes and sneakers. I bought the 12 in this shoe, and it fits, but it was a little tight across the strap. While they might stretch out over time, the note about the shoes fraying made me wonder if they would come apart once they stretched out.
