BAttery Pack Problem

Problem with battery pack
This doll is absolutely adorable; I bought 2 from this brand for the kids to have by my moms house. That being said, the dolls were not played with very much--so I was shocked to see that there was a problem with the battery pack. I orginally thought it needed new batteries as the sound was faded but after putting new batteries in, it continued to have the faded sound. I took the batteries out and they were somewhat hot! tried again and no sound at all. I took the batteries out to avoid a fire at this point. Extremely disappointed. Our other doll is still working fine so hopefully it's just a defect.
