Velvetines Matte Liquid Lipstick

I am not sure what made me purchase this product initially, but I am glad I did. I am NC 30-35 with warm yellow undertones and have been loving reds lately. I have dozens of Mac lipsticks, but now Lime Crime Red Velvet is in my top 5. It is gorgeous. The formula goes on wet and shiny, but after a minute it dries to a satin matte. I really like the formula although it's a bit dry. The color is amazing. It lasts for hours even through drinking. When I put Red Hot metallic (Lime Crime) over it and it adds some dimension. If you like YSL reds, you will love this. Pink Velvet is gorgeous also, as is Shroom!

This liquid lipstick does not budge! It is a little harder to apply than other liquid lipsticks that I've used because it's a very thin formula, but after a few tries I finally got it right. It's also more drying than I would have liked, but after a night of dinner/drinks it hardly moved. The color (Red Velvet) is a beautiful true red that I really love.

I use GIGI to outline lips & " KVD Lovecraft" in middle to create perfect ALL DAY (OH YEEASS) neutral but compliment getting lips. Kissing, Dinner, Wine... You name it. Even tho Nordstrom cancelled my order 2 X's, I NEVER GIVE UP. YOU ARE WELCOME LIME CRIME. I DO LOVE THIS COLOUR AND LOVE THE WAY IT STAYS. You Will too. PS, Nordstrom, You should Carry KVD.

The color is absolute perfection. A great mix of red and pink. I saw it on someone else and hunted this color down. But I had to return it unfortunately. The lipstick didn’t stay on through coffee and reapplication looked caked and uneven. I had to completely take it off and reapply at the office... not ideal

Got this color after seeing it on an actress in Riverdale. Love love love the color, but it came off superquick. I don’t wear a ton of make up, so I would not be using primer before this. If you use the primer I would assume that it would stay on a lot longer, but it’s just not a fit for me because of the maintenance requirement.

I have now bought four colors of this Matte Lipstick. The colors are bright and different; there are some great shades to experiment with from neutral, to bright, to something you haven't done before. Honestly, I was worried about the price--it is pretty hefty and not everyone might want to spend $20 on some lip coloring. I was very uneasy about it myself but something really urged me to try it and I was so pleased when I did. This stuff lasts. I have never had a shade that goes as long as it does but I will put this on at 6:30 in the morning and it will still have color on my lips when I leave work at 5:00--drinks, food, talking and all. It will stick with you through the day. Some of the colors are just so beautiful and really do pop (of course they don't quite make your lips as full as on the pictures). So far, all my colors have matched the picture exactly. According to research and Lime Crime's site, this company and product is also cruelty-free/vegan. A bonus in regards to the price, in my opinion. In comparison to MAC (still love the colors, makes me cringe about the animal-testing) which can be $18, doesn't last near as long, and is not cruelty-free. An additional $2 is not bad at all with what you get. CONS: This stuff is a bit drying--but once it dries it is very easy to apply some sort of lip-gloss on top of it without anything being transferred to the gloss' brush. The Matte also dries incredibly fast; so if a mistake is made, it can be a little bit of a makeup disaster.
