Lily Aldridge for Velvet by Graham & Spencer Army Jacket

This is not a jacket, it is a shirt! I was very disappointed when I received it. It is a very faded black (vintage as they put it) which makes it easier to match with more things as opposed to a dark black. And it is cute and has a good fit.. BUT the material is as thin as a dress shirt.. that's exactly what it feels like. I have a similar jacket in army green from another store and it is much thicker and cost 1/2 as much. Also the wrist size is odd. If I leave it unbuttoned they are extremely loose and you have to roll them up alot, like in the pic. And if you button the wrist even on the loosest button it is tight and hard to roll just one cuff, like I prefer to wear a jacket of this type. The reason being that if you button the wrist and leave them down it really accentuates the "dress shirt" look of this garment. If that makes sense?? As cute as this is it is definitely not worth $150!! What a ridiculous price for this! And it should not be labeled as a jacket.

This is a great little jacket. The only downside is that it is made in ...China. You have to go up a size to get your best fit. The jacket is cotton, it has lots of pockets and 2 of them are zip pockets: a good place to stash your stuff or just a nice place to rest your hands. There is a cord at the waist so you can cinch it for a waist nip or you can wear it shirt jac style. There are 2 small epaulets (me no like them) and they are not so conspicuous. The jacket is unlined. I plan to wear it with my John Lennon tee when I want to make a statement and with tank tops, skirts, jeans and stompers out of my major boot collection. Get one and have a little fun. Looks best with a smile.

I returned the jacket. When I tried it on, it just didn't look like it did in the picture. I'm 5'8" and the jacket seemed shorter to me than how it appeared in the picture. And I was unimpressed with the overall look. There was nothing stylish or special about the jacket, which I would definitely expect for the price point. I thought the weight (light summer) was fine.

I bought this in olive in the petite size, and it's perfect for layering. However, after owning it for only a couple of weeks, I noticed that the seam was starting to pull apart at the arm attachment. I love it so much that I considered stitching it back together until I noticed that the breast pocket was coming off, and the stitching was coming loose on one of the bottom pocket flaps! I had only worn the jacket a few times and it was completely falling apart! Hopefully Nordstrom will give me a refund.

I'm a size 8-10 or medium in most jackets. I read this jacket ran small so I ordered a large and it was too tight across the bust, shoulders and arms. It's a cute jacket but runs very, very small. The sizing is really off.

I waited for this to go on sale. I waited a long time! The best part of it is it has a lot of pockets - perfect for a photographer and anyone who likes to leave the pocketbook at home and be hands free. On me though this jacket was not so flattering. It looked like a commercial lab coat, not sporty, but industrial. So although it is practical it is not attractive. Back it goes!
