Lewellyn Combat Boot (Women)

My teen wanted combat boots for her birthday, so I chose these which are a perfect combination of kickass and glitz. Reviews said to size up so I bought my kid a sz 7 instead of a 6.5. They have a side zipper to get them on and off easily but also lace up if you want. These look best if they are NOT laced all the way up as that obscures the gorgeous rhinestone brooch on the tongue of each boot. But if you don't lace them all the way up, the laces are too long, and because you'll probably zip in and out of them, it's a nuisance to wrap the excess laces around the ankle of the boot. The pave' trim around the base of the boot is gorgeous in the sunlight! (So is the rhinestone brooch!) The brooch is substantial and a bit heavy. Downside to the brooch is the prongs keeping the stones in place risk catching on the laces and long clothing. Still, totally worth it, these are GORGEOUS boots! They are not leather but synthetic leather, too. Appear well-made, my kid just loves them, and she constantly is getting compliments when she wears them from both men and women. These are a statement boot, modern punk rock glam at it's best! (Vivienne Westwood would be proud...)

I wasn't are if these would be over the top once I saw them in person. They are so beautiful. I'm curious how long the jewels will stay in tact as these types of features tend to disappear without you realizing. I've worn these once so far, walked around all day long and had no issues. I'm very happy with this purchase.
