Les Mains Hermès - Enamel Base Coat

This base coat adhered well to the nail. If you plan to wear polish over it I would buy the Hermes polish(I did not because I can't afford to buy both) because this base coat does not work well with other polishes(opi). The polish started to separate on top of the base coat. Maybe I should've splurged and bought all three (base, polish, top coat), but $165.00 seemed over the top at my middle class income level for nail polish. On its own it's just ok if you like the bare nail look--but this can be achieved at a much lower price for a bottle of basecoat. You must wait in between coats for it to fully dry. It chips just as others do after 3-4 days. I washed my bare nails with soap and dried them well before applying. The price point is another reason for only 4 stars and the fact after two uses it started to dry and stick to the rim. Sadly returning. Back to the drawing board.

I lover Hermes nail polish. i think it is the best polish on the market today. It has a beautiful shine, even the base coat shines and it is lasting yet easy to remove. I like to use two coats of the white base coat in summer by itself for a fresh, clean look. i do wish they had more light tints like soft violet or the light pink they had discontinued. It also makes a lovely luxury gift for the person who has everything. Highly recommended.
