In 2007, supermodel, actress and activist Liya Kebede started Lemlem—the brand's name is Amharic for bloom—as a way of recognizing and preserving the beauty, quality and historic significance of traditional Ethiopian weaving (while inspiring economic independence for the weavers themselves). The brand’s gorgeous, crisply striped Bara top, handwoven from a fine, airy cotton blend, is one of our favorites: a breezy beauty with chic three-quarter-length sleeves and an elegant bateau neckline.
