LE LIFT CRÈME YEUX Eye Cream

Background: I used to work for CHANEL Beaute in various capacities over the last decade. What a note from their rigorous training is that they do not change formulations unless they are improving a product. I used to use Sublimage eye cream, but with my student loans kicking in, I wanted to find out if I like the new formulation of the Le Lift eye cream to save a little bit of money. I read the reviews and many people did not like the new texture. Knowing what I know about CHANEL, I decided to try it out myself and make my own decisions. I love the improved texture! It is a bit thicker than it used to be, but that is the point. I am sure it helps the cream stay in the targeted eye area better than the old formulation. I used it for the first time last night, and I woke up noticing less crepiness around my eyes. That is just night one! Just a note for any new users of CHANEL ice cream: for the eye area, all you need to use is half a grain of rice amount for both eyes. This will give you enough product to pat gently around the under eyes, inner and outer corners, and the brow area, too. If you use any more than that, you are going to have to really work at getting your skin to absorb it. Plus you’re basically throwing money away. Bottom line is this new formulation rocks!

I can’t believe Chanel placed it’s name on this new reformulated cream. I’m referring to the product in the new frosted pink glass packaging. Yes, the jar looks nicer. I’ve been using Chanel eye creams religiously for almost 20 years. I’ve used other Chanel eye and skin products off and on. I started using Le Lift in my late mid 20 simply because it was one of a few eye creams that never irritated my eyes. I have sensitive eyes and Chanel eye cream and makeup remover worked like a dream. Le Lift was reformulated in the past but nothing like this. The new version has a horrid faint odor, I usually don’t mind if my skin care smells floral, citrusy, spicy.... but this is disgusting. The old version glided on, was silky, absorbed immediately, kept me wrinkle free like nothing else. This new version will not glide, its extremely sticky. My finger pulled my skin as I applied the cream and the stickiness never went away. It felt as if I applied Elmers glue that never dried. After a few minutes my under eye area and upper lid started to burn as if on fire. I was about to run to the bathroom to wash it off but thought to push through and hoped it only lasts a few minutes. It lasted for about 15 minutes, subsiding to a mild discomfort which never went away. Before the application my under eye was wrinkle free, but after I found 2 semi-deep lines under each eye. I’m turning 40 soon and planned on adding more Le Lift products to my daily regiment but no more. Le lift eye (old formula) kept me wrinkle free until now. Unfortunately after almost 20 years it is time to say good bye to Chanel and hopefully I’ll find an equal or close to an equal replacement. This new formula equals a $10 drugstore brand cream. I hope Chanel brings back the old formula even as an alternative or at a higher price. I’m willing to pay an extra $50 for the old but the new is being returned.
