Belted Wool Blend Wrap Coat

I am 5’10” and 130lbs typically I’m a size 4-6 after reading reviews I decided to get the 8. It’s very tight in the arm pits when you do the weird thing “with the arms a crossed in front of the body” that we all do. Ordered a 10 before returning the 8 and decided to keep the 8 because I was swimming in the 10. It’s a very gorgeous dupe coat and much more affordable than the Maxx Mara coat that retails for $3800 I believe. I do love it for fall, I just hope I never split the arm seams !! Also, the whip stitching was pulled out in some areas on the size 10 so that’s another reason I didn’t keep the size 10.

Beautiful coat, fabulous quality. It’s a lot of coat, though, so wouldn’t recommend for shorter folks. I’m usually an 8 and ordered a 10 and it fits perfectly with a sweater underneath.

Beautiful design, overall, but the important little details aren't there. The weight of the fabric is WAY lighter than it should be. There should be waist darts or princess seams at the back for a better fit. The polyester lining looks and feels cheap. Honestly, the quality for this price is shameful. Ralph Lauren is coasting on their name and reputation with this coat. You're paying for the name. Ralph Lauren, please do better.

I couldn't believe my eyes the absolute second I took this coat out of the package because of how unbelievably cheap it looked. The stitching on the collar is completely embarrassing—it looks exactly like something my daughter made in her home economics sewing class when she was just first learning how to stitch. Not only does it look incredibly cheap, but the fabric also feels rough and low-grade. On top of that, it broke me out in an intense, horrible rash all over my back. I am not sure if the severe itching is because the inner lining fabric is just as cheap as the shell, or if it is from a toxic overload of industrial chemicals sprayed all over the garment before shipping. To make matters worse, it arrived with a horribly strong, toxic industrial odor. By the very next day, that chemical smell completely filled my entire apartment and literally made me sick to my stomach. I am in total shock that something this poorly made is manufactured and sold by a big designer brand like Ralph Lauren. The standard $370 markup price for this item is absolute highway robbery. If there is any positive side to this nightmare, it is the gorgeous silhouette it creates from behind when you loop the belt through the sides and tie it into a beautiful double bow at the lower back—it cinches the waist perfectly and drapes wonderfully. However, you cannot actually wear it out because the armholes are engineered so ridiculously low and tight. You can see clearly from my pictures that I am 6 feet tall, and this coat has zero grace for a tall frame. It pulls and strains so badly across the upper back that the second I stretch my arms out in front of me or try to put them in the air, the fabric locks up like a straightjacket and yanks the sleeves way up my forearms. This absolute garbage quality is 100% the fault of Ralph Lauren, not Nordstrom. Nordstrom handles shipping flawlessly and provides amazing, hassle-free returns. But because of this disgusting quality, I will never purchase another product from Ralph Lauren again. Save your hard-earned money and skip this scam. I am absolutely heartbroken that this purchased didn't work out!!!
