Details & care

What it is: A vibrant, full-coverage lip color that lasts through the closest of encounters.

What it does: It combines delicate mattifying powders with moisturizing mango butter for an addictive sensorial experience.

How to use: Press the bullet to the lips using even pressure. Press your lips together. For added definition, use a lip pencil before or after application. You can also apply concealer around the edge of your mouth to create a more defined lip line.

Will buy over and over again!

I first received a sample of this in the color Sensual as a gift with purchase and instantly fell in love. It is just the right amount color while being the perfect nude for my skin tone. It doesn't dry my lips like other lip colors. It goes on very smooth and stays in place nicely.

Not what I expected

This product failed to meet my expectations. I should've trusted the other poor reviews. It was not matte at all! It was creamy with a semi- shine. It also created "tide marks" when you press lips together. It was very hard to get an even application. It also did not stay put at all. The beauty of a true matte lipstick is a crisp sharp edge and that is impossible to achieve with this. Truly disappointed! I so wanted to love this :(

Nice lipstick

This is unlike any matte lipstick I have tried. It's matte yet moisturizing and has a lovely sensation on the lips like velvet; hence the name velour. A must try! Foreplay is a pretty orange-red color.

Pretty color but formula is not my fave

I purchased this in the shade "Infatuation." The color is gorgeous. But, the formula is a little chalky looking on my lips. I tried exfoliating and moisturizing my lips first and that helped a little. Pretty, but not an effortless lipstick - prep work needed!

Great lipstick!

Formulation is very opaque and the finish is not too shiny, but not overly matte. It's a perfect in-between finish with pretty good staying power for what the finish is. The color temptation is a classic burnt red, perfect for a dramatic night time look. Would definitely buy more colors. The only downside is that the color options are a little limited.

Velvety texture

Very nice lipstick, which is what I expect from Laura Mercier. Would not exactly call it matte, however, as there is some shine. The texture is wonderful. The color I chose, Cocoa Pout, is a little dark on me. I will probably get a different color as this lipstick has such a nice feel and good color saturation.

Beautiful boudoir

I love the boudoir dark berry pink color. This lip color glides on nicely and lasts for quite a while. Very pretty product.
