What it is: A sheer, silky, best-selling powder that sets your makeup and feels luxuriously dense in the jar and refined on your skin.

What it does: It applies evenly and blends effortlessly, leaving behind a modern matte finish with a touch of sheer coverage. The translucent shade works on virtually all skin types. Like all Laura Mercier setting powders, it has a soft-focus effect that subtly blurs the look of fine lines and imperfections. It won't settle into fine lines or pores and never looks cakey.
How to use: Preparing the puff (sold separately) is key. Press the powder puff into the loose powder, then work the powder into the puff by folding and rubbing the halves together or by tapping the powdered side vigorously on the back of your hand. Gently press the puff onto your skin, using a rolling motion to work the powder in. As with all setting powders, apply after any creamy formulas, including crème blush.

Lightweight setting powder
This is honestly one of the best setting powders I’ve tried. It’s incredibly finely milled and sets makeup without making the skin look dry or cakey. I mainly use it under my eyes and around my T-zone, and it keeps everything looking smooth for hours. What I love most is that it blurs pores slightly while still looking very natural. Even when I take photos with flash, it doesn’t leave any white cast. A little goes a very long way, so the tub lasts ages.

Been using for a few years, but....
I use this product under my eyes, applying with a fine brush as a setting powder before I apply my eyeliner. It helps both my concealer and my eyeliner stay fixed, versus at times blurring into a slubby line. Just for the first time I read the ingredients. Talc being number one leads me to not use this product as inhaling this in any way is harmful to humans. I do notice you offer a talc-free version. My current one will now have to get tossed and I'll have to shell out for a new replacement to feel safe. Can't say I'm not disappointed.

Too yellow
Wanted a translucent powder to set my makeup. This one darkened my makeup and made it look yellow-toned. Makeup looked absolutely horrible. This is not translucent. It’s yellow.

Good everyday basic powder
I’ve used this setting powder for about 10 years. It’s a little expensive but if I try to buy something less costly, I’m always disappointed and end up returning to the store to buy this product. Never lets me down!

Brilliant for under eye darkness
I suffer from under darkness. I struggle to find the right coverage that doesn't cause creasing under the eye. This powder is amazing I apply a small amount after my foundation. And it creates a sheer coverage. It isn't drying and doesn't stick to your creases. Without doubt is approved, the appearance of my under eye. You only need a small amount.

I don't get the hype
I bought this years ago and I have been determined to finish it. I bought it on the back of all of the good reviews and recommendations on the internet. Unfortunately, this doesn't do anything for me - no matter how I apply it it has a tendency to cake, and it doesn't really mattify my oily skin. When my natural oils come though this powder makes my skin look quite cakey. I can't use this under my eyes, but that is not the fault of this product as my under eyes are so dry nothing seems to work for them, no matter how much I moisturise or what concealer or powder combination I use. I don't know if its this product in particular or loose powders in general, but this doesn't really work for me. This may work better for normal skin.
