Matte Radiance Baked Powder

Prior to this, I was using Hourglass Ambient lighting to try to highlight my face without too much sparkle. Many advertised and well known highlighters are far too glittery for me. I wanted a true highlight that just has an almost shimmery pearlescent glow to it to brighten my cheekbones and under eye area. This is now my holy grail highlighter. It has just enough pearl and shimmer to it for my preference. I previously purchased the MAC mineralize in "Soft and Gentle" as well as the Becca highlighter in "Opal" because so many guru's rave about them. HOWEVER, they were FAR too sparkly and made me look like a fairy. I ended up with Luminous Light by Hourglass which is like this highlight-01 but with a little more sparkle/glitter in it.

I originally bought the Laura Mercier 'Mosiac' Shimmer Bloc (Item #163948) in the color "Peach Mosiac" to use as a highlighter. However, the only problem I faced was that I only liked the lighter colors of the palette. Thanks to Nordstrom's return policy and the help of a Nordstrom employee, I was able to find exactly what I was looking for. She told me that "Nars Highlighting Blush Powder" (Item#154720) in "Albatross" was one of the best sellers for a highlighter. However, when I sampled it on my wrist, I wasn't too fond of the color, it had a lot of white to it. She was very helpful and recommended this item in the "Highlight" color and I was very pleased, it was exactly what I was looking for. The highlighter is great. It starts out with a nice light glowy finish but if you want more enhancement, it is buildable. I like this product so much that I will stopping by Nordstrom to buy one of the other colors for a bronzer. I would definitely recommend this over the Nars of other Laura Mercier highlighters I tried.

This Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder Compact in 01 Highlight has very quickly become my absolute favorite powder highlighter for the following reasons: - It's not stark white when applied. It has a very light, warm peach-pink tint that is very flattering on lighter skintones, and it blends in very well. - There is no glitter, only shimmer that is subtle but still perceivable when worn (some highlighters are too subtle and can barely be seen). - It's hydrating with Vitamin E and jojoba oil, so it never looks chalky or overdone. - It's very finely-milled and easy to apply. You can just tell this is a luxurious, well-made product. I apply this with a fan brush, and I'm sure a duofiber brush would work great, as well. It looks equally flattering on cheekbones, the cupid's bow, down the center of the nose, on the brow bone, and in the inner corner of the eyes. I loved the Poudre Signee de Chanel highlighter but never purchased it because it was so insanely expensive, so I was extremely happy when I found that this is very similar. Highly, highly recommended!

I purchased this in shade 01. I have med./light skintone w/some pink to it. I avoid bronzers because they look fake, glittery, cakey, dirty. This one is no exception. I thought I'd give "bronzer" another shot...perhaps formula's & shades have improved since my last dismal purchase in 2008. Nope. This is an orangey brown. With slight shimmer to it. Why did I buy Laura Mercier? I hate all her cosmetic shades.....yellow, orange & brown based. I used to be a make-up artist, I know my stuff. Don't just apply this bronzer & look @ it in your bathroom mirror. Everything looks ok there. Go near a sunlit window, or out in daylight, the true test of a good bronzer or foundation. This is not flattering for women over 40....doesn't matter what shade you buy.
