Kajal d'Orient Eyeliner

This tool has given me the ability to do a "tight line" effect that the Laura Mercier make-up artists have been trying to teach me for 10 years. I have ultra sensitive eyes and the tight line is very difficult it for me to do myself. The Kajal makes it a snap. I can almost do the effect without looking in the mirror. Amazing.

I recently had a makeover at the Mercier counter at Nordstrom and was looking for a dramatic smokey eye look for an evening wedding. This product worked well on my lid and smudged into the eye shadow nicely, but since it is specifically for the water line, I have to say it didn't stay put very long. It seemed to bead up inside the water line and drip out of the corners of my eyes - this was all before I left the store. I would consider purchasing this for use as a typical eye liner, but would use something else inside the water line.

I always own a classic kajal pencil and have done since the nineties. I love them for smudgey, smoked out, 'slept-in' looks and find they look super-dramatic because they are so dark and make my pale eyes really pop. This pencil is great because it's the classic shape and provided you use it correctly it won't need sharpening. The best and traditional way to use this, is to place it in the waterline and close your eye onto the pencil and then swipe it outwards so it lines both the upper and lower waterline and creates a super-dark effect. This pencil works beautifully - I have it in Black and Vino and love them both. Top quality, lasts all day and night with that gorgeous perfectly-imperfect effect. I will never tire of this look and in my opinion, this looks amazing at any age if you're brave enough to rock it!
