What it is: A soft, ultra-light powder.
Who it's for: Anyone with normal to dry skin types.
What it does: This loose, talc-free powder is made with micro-refined silica for an incredibly soft, silky feel. It floats weightlessly onto skin to set and smooth your look and gives skin a natural, shine-free finish. The invisible shade is colorless on skin, so it works on all skin tones. Like all Laura Mercier setting powders, it has a soft-focus effect that subtly blurs the look of fine lines and imperfection. It doesn't settle into fine lines or pores and never looks cakey.
How to use: Start by sprinkling a little powder onto a clean, flat surface like the top of the powder lid. Dip a fan-shaped powder brush into the powder, picking up only a small amount—a little goes a long way. Gently apply to your skin in a light sweeping motion. As with all setting powders, apply after any creamy formulas, including cream blush.

For those that shy away from powders......
Not everyone uses powder to set their make-up or tinted moisturizer. These folks are usually dry or say that powder makes the lines and wrinkles enhanced.
Here is some Beauty Truth in make-up application.

worst makeup product ever
I can’t believe Laura Mercier put this product out because it’s absolutely terrible. I wore it for 3 hours and by the time I got home, it had completely broken up my concealer and foundation - it looked like I had scales instead of skin. Just awful.

A few issues
This stuff is grainy, which can be a problem! For example, when you go in for a kiss and it feels like you both now have sand in your mouth. When you first apply it you will see what I mean.. if you get just a little on your lips you will see that it is grainy. I figured it dissipates but a few hours later I was kissing my man and he was like "what is this crackly stuff I'm getting in my mouth?!"
Also. this stuff does NOT photograph well. It does create quite a lovely finish on the skin.. matte at first but evens out. So you can't see it with the naked eye.. HOWEVER its is very visible in photos. You can even see if you applied it unevenly. Remember that picture a few years back with Nicole Kidman where she had all this white powder all over her nose in some red carpet photos? I have a feeling she was using the Laura setting powder.
After those 2 issues I have not since used the product. It's collecting dust.

I was hoping this would replace the Lancome Photogenic powder that was discontinued but it doesn't . I used it sparingly, as other reviews suggested, but it still looked very white and ghostly. A Lancome representative suggested I use the Dual Finish compact powder with a big fluffy brush and that comes closest to the results I used to get from the Photogenic powder.

A Must Have
I love this setting powder. I have oily skin and this setting power definitely helps me keep a matte finish in photographs. I used to always have a shine in photographs around the T-zone. But after using this product, I haven't had that problem. It does go on white after the initial application, but nothing that couldn't be smoothed out with a brush. Once absorbed, it is completely transparent.

Smooth as silk
My first time using a setting powder and I am very pleased. This product is so finely milled that it goes on your face like a whisper. It is perfect for setting the concealer under your eyes without turning a ghostly or ashy color. Will never live without it.
