Perfect solution to drying skin
I love this! I am 55 and my skin has been getting drier. I noticed my Laura Mercier original primer and foundation was caking up on my face and I had several dry spots especially on my nose. A friend recommended this hydrating primer and voila! No more caking and flaking. I just use a little and it spreads nicely all over my face. It’s light and fresh feeling. And, my foundation spreads nicely on my face on top of it.

Changed ingredients causing issues
I’ve been using the Laura Mercier primer tinted moisturisers for over 14 years and always really loved them. Recently however, I’ve been having a bad experience which I initially thought was with the tinted moisturiser, but now realise is with the primer.
I feel like many will be experiencing the same, and I discovered this through somebody in TikTok. Normally I’m all for improving ingredients, and so when LM stopped using silicone in the primer I didn’t think anything of it. However slowly I’ve realised the tinted moisturiser does not sit well on my skin. It looks patchy after application, and if I run my face even slightly the make up crumbles off!
From somebody sharing a similar experience on TikTok I realise it’s due to removing the silicone in the primer, but having silicone still within the tinted moisturiser. Apparently a water-based primer and silicone-based make up do not mix. So this morning I applied the tinted moisturiser without the primer, and low and behold I experienced none of the above, just the smooth application I was previously used to.
I think it’s really bad the primer is now not suitable to be used in conjunction with the tinted moisturiser, and I’m going to have to find new products to use which is frustrating as Laura Mercier has been my go-to for so long now!

A must have before any foundation
This is a Wonderful primer to put on before any type of foundation, including tinted moisturizer.
I am older than 50 so this is perfect for older skin. It gives it a nice glow. When putting on moisturizer or tinted moisturizer, it goes on smoothly. I love this product.
