What it is: An ultra volume-boosting, lengthening mascara that delivers showstopping, bold lashes with a single coat.

What it does: The full-contact brush, with its S-shaped curve, grasps and loads lashes for a fanned-out, full-body fringe. The mascara's luxe Texturizing Complex features highly saturated waxes and intense black pigments for maximum eyelash volume. A triple coating system delivers a fluid and creamy application to quickly and easily build big, dramatic lashes that won't clump or flake.

How to use: Place the concave (U-shaped side) of the brush at the root of the lash to deposit the product. Let the brush glide up lashes from root to tip using a zigzag movement. Flip to the convex side and comb through for a fanned-out effect. Use the tip of the thickening mascara's applicator to deposit product on root of lashes. For thicker, fuller lashes, apply vertically to tip of lashes and then comb through the lashes out to outer corner of eye.

OMG BUY THIS RIGHT NOW

Ok, so, I've bought drugstore mascara for years. I buy high-end everything else cosmetics wise, but have never had a high-end mascara that worked better than the cheapo in the orange tube until THIS. A friend of mine suggested the Hypnose Drama and when I asked at my local Lancome counter, the sales lady said "I don't usually recommend this mascara". She handed me a tester and showed me how to apply it and WOW we were both SHOCKED. I am uploading a photo here of what it did for my lashes. CLICK on the photo to see it clearly. **You need to know HOW to apply this. Not only do you put on the underside of your top lashes, but you place the wand at the base of the TOP side of your upper lashes, then turn the wand as you pull it to the end of your lashes - you're "rolling" on the mascara. This is the key to getting the most from this mascara. I will say if you purchase this (or any other Lancome product) while they have the Warm/Cool Holiday Purchase with Purchase for $59.50, BUY THE SET! I bought it and it is amazing. I've never worn Lancome before and it was a great way to try lots of their products I would never have tried otherwise. Plus the travel case is huge and is really worth the $60 by itself in my opinion. I am in love with the eyeliner pencil (which I used on my waterline also), the blush, and the La Base primer from this kit. Also, I used all of the eyeshadows included in this kit and got an amazing smoky eye in a flash. I may be a Lancome convert after trying this kit. (I chose the Warm one.) I used the Definicils mascara which came in my Warm kit this morning and tried the Hypnose Drama on over the Definicils. After applying the Drama, the sales lady said "WOW! What a DIFFERENCE!" - we were both amazed at the intense difference it made. It really looked like I had applied fake eyelashes. I think I will always apply the Drama over the Definicils - Definicils to separate and the Drama to thicken. Really amazing combo. PS - The Definicils comes in the Warm Holiday set and the Hypnose Drama comes in the Cool set. The mascara is $27 by itself and you get a full sized one in the purchase with purchase. Just the mascara and the train case are worth the $57.50! Plus you get all of the extras.

clumps and immediate flakes

This is the WORST mascara I have ever used. I have to apply it before eyeshadow and concealer; otherwise, I wipe most of them off cleaning up the flakes that surround my eyes from the second it dries. I wish I had returned it after the first use, but I thought it might improve with time. I'm back to cover girl, which has a better brush, is just as black, is better at thickening, only flakes at the end of the day, and costs less than $8. If I'd had the option to give this zero stars (or negative), I would have.

UH•MAZING Mascara

Truly THE BEST I have used for gorgeous, full, dark and lush lashes. Normally nothing could touch my YSL Faux Cills, however one day I tried a sample of the original Hypnôse and fell in love! The look I achieved was so dramatic and eye-opening (literally) in a shorter amount of time, using less coats, that when the new Hypnôse Drama came out I was all over it. For the previous reviewers who did not favor this formula because of clumping, I must note that this mascara is NOT meant to give you long, defined, separated and super "natural" looking lashes. If that's the look you prefer the original Définicils forumla or the brand new Définicils Precious Cells is most fitting. Lancôme is known for their mascaras because each formula DOES SOMETHING DIFFERENT. Hypnôse Drama is the most dramatic, dark and lush you can get - hence the name. If you put too many coats on it may get clumpy...but so will any mascara that is meant to build volume and thickness as much as this one. All I can say is for the way it is positioned in their mascara market this formula (and its beautiful, plush brush) is FABULOUS! On the days where I want something not so dramatic I only apply one coat or I use my Définicils Precious Cells for a different, more "natural" look. Bottom Line Beauties: If you want a one-stop shop for the biggest, best, lush, long, dark and dramatic lashes Hypnôse Drama Mascara will have you looking marvelous in under a minute!

Love It

great formula, the brush is fabulous.... the drama it creates is amazing ..and it is frangrance free - so perfect for those of us with sensitivities and allergies.

Wow!

I love this mascara!!! All I can say is WOW! I have long, sparse, asian type lashes (which means that my top lashes are straight and point down). I use an eyelash curler (slightly heated by my hairdryer) to curl my lashes. I swipe this mascara on them and they look like I have fake eyelashes! I love it! I hope they come out with a waterproof version so that I won't have to worry about working out in makeup and have it running down my face. So far that hasn't happened. I also like the fact that my eyelashes stay curled after I put the mascara on. So many mascara's make my lashes go straight and you can't really see them unless you see me from the side. Overall, this is a great mascara!

Great everyday mascara-my staple!!

This is my favorite mascara! I use it all the time. It is a great everyday mascara. Makes your lashes long and thick but not too over top. If I want over the top for going out, nightlife, I use the Grandiose. And sometimes I use the Cils booster under Hypnose and get the same effect.

This mascara is crazy amazing! I love it! I have super sensitive eyes and my mascara always seems to flake underneath my eyes giving me the racoon look...this doesn't! It's a great buy! Would recommend to everyone!
