Details & care

What it is: A nondrying, semi-matte liquid lipstick that delivers ultrapigmented, lightweight lip color that lasts all day.

What it does: This ultrathin, weightless lip ink leaves your lips saturated in vibrant color that lasts all day with a single swipe. Its patented curved applicator ensures ultimate precision without the use of a liner, and it won't feather or bleed. It's infused with rose extract, which leaves your lips feeling soft, nurtured and comfortable all day long.

How to use: Use the tip of the patented curved applicator to line your lips with your favorite lip shade just as you would with a liner. Turn the applicator on its side and apply the liquid lipstick onto the center of your lips. Smooth outward toward the corners of your lips to complete your look.

Survives the mask!

I have been in the mood for red lip for a while now, maybe mask wearing side effect. However as a committed mask wearing one, I was afraid of red mess all around my lips. This is great, it lasts a very long time, minimal transfer below my lower lip, due to mask, beautiful color (525). It takes a little longer to put on, as you have to carefully outline your lips, but it stays. I needed to reapply in the middle after dinner, but that is expected.

Colors are rich, but applicator is odd

Nearly all my make-up and skincare products are Lancome, so count me as a fan! Having said that - I don't love this one. The applicator is too short, so you definitely have to do your top lip first or else get the product all over the wand. The tip is a small piece of spade-shaped plastic with spongy edges, and it takes some getting used to. You also need a steady hand to apply, since this is a thick liquid - otherwise, you're going to get a shaky lip edge, and it'll show for sure. Once applied, the color doesn't last more than a couple of hours, although I do note it's very rich! I was hoping to find something to replace the Matte Shaker, which was super easy to apply and lasted forever, but this isn't it, unfortunately.

Not as good as the Matte Shaker was

I was hoping this would compare to Lancome Matte Shaker that has been discontinued. It's close, but doesn't stay on as long as the Matte Shaker did.

Love love love

Easy to apply; feels great! Lasts a good amount of time and comes in a variety of colors.

Interesting

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very long lasting and no smudge or transfer but weird feel and lack of slip.

lancome-usa.com response
Hi there! Thank you for sharing such detailed feedback on the L'Absolu Rouge Drama Ink Liquid Lipstick! We're thrilled to hear that it delivers on its promise of being long-lasting with zero smudge or transfer, but we're sorry that the texture felt a bit unusual and lacked that comfortable slip. We'll be sure to share your thoughts with our product team!
