What it is: A hydrating pH-balance cleanser that gently removes makeup, dirt and oil for a fresh, healthy-looking complexion.
Who it's for: Ideal for those with normal-to-combination skin types.
What it does: This lightly foaming cleanser leaves the complexion smooth, refreshed and clean without stripping skin of its natural moisture. It gently cleanses, lifting away surface dirt, pollutants and oils while replenishing essential hydration in a non-drying, easy-to-rinse formula. Enriched with nourishing amino acids and soothing aloe vera, this cleanser softens skin for a comfortably clean but not tight feeling. BHA further improves the look of skin texture and removes dull, dry skin cells for a clean and healthy-looking complexion. The Method: Cleanse is the second step of The Lancer Method, Dr. Harold Lancer's signature regimen of daily exfoliation, cleansing and nourishing.
How to use: Apply a small amount to damp skin then gently massage over the face, neck and décolletage, avoiding the eye area. Rinse thoroughly.

Love it
As someone who has suffered from acne flare ups since the age of 13, I've been around the block a few times when it comes to finding the right dermatologist and skin care line. This is definitely the right dermatologist, and his skin care line is phenomenal. I love the cleanser. It's gentle and leaves your skin looking and feeling better with each use.
I know Dr Lancer is gifted at his craft because I am a former patient and he gave me gorgeous, glowing skin for my wedding 8 years ago. Sadly, I had to move from LA several years ago, and my skin has suffered for it.
Now after using Dr. Lancer's full line of products (Cleanse + Polish + Nourish + Glycolic + Vitamin C) for the past 3 weeks, my skin has bounced back. It's softer, smoother, and has a pretty glow to it. I am beyond thrilled, and so happy to have Dr. Lancer back in my life :).
P.S. My skin is acne prone and usually highly reactive to products that clog and irritate the skin. I've had zero problems with this cleanser or any of the products in this line. If you are only using this cleanser and not the rest of the line, don't forget to gently exfoliate your skin as well.

Clogs pores!!!
Like everyone I couldn't wait to try this out after I saw it on Oprah. When I first used this cleanser, my skin was looking great for the first week, but then it clogged my pores up severely! Every single pore on my face was clogged up!!! And it took me 3 weeks (not kidding) to unclog all the pores on my face and get my skin back to normal again. I have very oily skin so maybe it just doesn't work for people with oily skin?

Changed Package-Not Better
I do love the product inside the tube. It is a very gentle cleanser and does not bother my sensitive skin. However the new packaging is terrible. Lancer Company please go back to the old packaging - it was simple and perfect. Here is a list of what's wrong, new versus old packaging.
1. Too big - old packaging fit nicely in drawer.
2. Cap detaches from tube (why the change from the flip top?) is very smooth becomes extremely slippery when wet and 90% of the time ends up on the shower floor. This also happens with the Lancer Method Polish cap.
3. Packaging is very "tippy" even when you set it on its cap it is not stable.
4. The old packaging was perfect for traveling the sizes of the Lancer Cleanse/Polish tubes is ridiculously big for the amount of product contained.
I am a loyal customer - Lancer please go back to the old packaging it was perfect.

average results
I waited a month to review this cleanser. It's fine. Really nothing to complain about other than it does have a strong scent- it's a good scent, but it's really present. It's a so so cleanser. It's not particularly hydrating and it doesn't do anything in particular. It reminds me of DDF cleansers, a little on the "dermatoglogical" too many ingredients side of things.
I won't re-purchase because it didn't really wow me, and for this price, it's got to really blow me away.

Lancer Cleanse
The Lancer Cleanse is okay but my Estee Lauder cleanser is just as good and it's a quarter of the price. I got this because I saw the Oprah Winfrey show when Dr. Lancer was on it with Bob Greene and the impression I got from the show was that I would notice a difference immediately and I have not. I never spend this kind of money on beauty products, so I was really hoping for more from the Lancer line.
