14K Gold Upside Down Small Hoop Earrings

The earrings look really nice. They are such a basic variation of a hoop, but look so different, interesting and elegant. They do not come with stops. However, it is just a gold wire bent into shape. If placed correctly in the ear (in the center such that the cross of the wire hangs directly vertical), it is mechanically stable and stays in place without falling out. The only thing to be careful is if you have a scarf or something that the earring comes in contact with. Then it can get easily displaced. Once displaced it is not stable anymore and has the tendency to fall out. That is why I gave it four stars and not five. Stability aspects aside, you can wear it with very casual outfits or slightly dressy events. The wire is thin, but it definitely has a presence. If it was any thicker, you would not have been able to wear it to work or for day to day activities. It is a very creative design and you can wear it with anything from jeans and a shirt with or without a jaccket, to a dress or a skirt.

These earrings are beautiful but I only gave them one star because one fell out immediately and was lost. They are not cheap and I am super-disappointed. I can’t believe they don’t come with some sort of backing when they fall out so easily.

Purchased $220 earrings and received them in the cheapest looking box, not even printed with the Nordstrom logo. Yes, they are a gift, but I wanted to wrap it myself. I had to purchase a box, not a $$ issue, but a convenience one. Very disappointed.

I purchased these in yellow gold and love them. I am a minimalist when it comes to jewelry and although these are very thin (which is just what I was looking for), they have presence. I received plastic backs with mine so they stay put quite nicely. These are a great size for day wear and look especially elegant with your hair pulled back. These are classic, timeless, yet have a little bit of edge because they are unusual.

I received these earrings as a gift from my Husband and loved them! I went to wear them, and within an hour one of them fell out of my ear and got lost. I looked online after this happened and it seems these often come with earrings backs (the little clear ones) to keep this from happening, but there were no backs in the box he got directly from the Nordstrom store. Very frustrating (especially since these are pretty pricey), and wish Nordstrom would have replaced the missing hoop since they didn't include the backs in the first place. It's also not very clear that you would even need backs with these :/. I love Norstrom, but disappointed with this :(
